If I remember correctly, it’s typical for Germany to take Karelia the first round since Russia is not going to have enough force to keep it. The main duty for Russia is to make sure Germany cannot use Karelia’s factory to produce new units next couple rounds, meaning Russia needs to take it back if Germany conquer it. If not Allies will be in difficult position.
Can fighters attack behind enemy lines?
-
Lets say that germany has a bomber in Poland, and armies on all terretories around. Russia has a fighter in caucasus or karelia, can that fighter attack the bomber in Poland and then return safely home?
-
Yes. Would be a good idea too, as you would be attacking at the optimum odds. Bombers are excellent offensive units, but awful defensively, so keeping them stacked with other units is important to safeguarding them.
If there is an AA unit in the Bomber’s territory it would get to shoot at your Fighter, so beware. -
Ok, thx. And it wont matter if the fighter passes over terretories with AA guns? (same in 1st edition?)
-
No. Only in the territory being attacked. Meant to say, sorry.
