  • And btw I still think that even in this version UK is too strong compared to other powers. Basically they look like US in A&A, they just attack, they don’t really need to defend their capitol/island and ireland. This puts them in a very good position of harassers. I doubt in this game UK will win, but I won’t win with France either, thanks to UK (and I can’t even fight them, 'cause I don’t have chances of putting a fleet in the channel).

    Now if Austria attacked me too, I would have died in no time. I am lucky we got a deal, but still, I dunno. It’s also true that a wise France and UK in my opinion should ally, but in this game Gekk wasn’t interested in doing so.

    but late game, they can easily fall


  • Let’s also not forget that France convoy zones are conveniently placed next to UK and Gibraltar, meaning France is a sure -12 IPCs. And If I didn’t invested heavily in a medi fleet, that would have been also a -18.

    They won’t, they need to fight France without any real objective if not letting other players win the game. We’re exchanging troops (TUV) and worthless territories. He could have sezied Sweden by now. /rant mode

    To go from war to ceasefire takes 2 turns, so that is not possible right now (by the rules).

    It’s a tough situation because I don’t want to see the French fleet annihilated.  Perhaps we three powers (UK/France/Ottomans) could reach some sort of naval pact?  Keep the UK outside the Mediterranean and keep the French/Ottomans inside?

  • UK had many chances to make a deal, but they really decided France IS their objective. So I will do everything that is in my power to fight the mad warmongers, even if this means another nation will win this game.

    to renew the Open Borders, you must go to ceasefire or alliance for a turn.  so in other words, this turn you go to ceasefire, and then next turn you go to open borders again.

    i’m cool with whatever.

    for my actions, I offer Russia an Alliance.

    (ie: open borders this turn, and alliance the next turn)
