    Yeah, that was puzzling to me, as well. In AA50, they don’t count as warships for purposes of preventing Italy from getting the NO for controlling the Med. I think it’s because sz125 is a convoy zone which subs interdict automatically no matter what units occupy that sea zone with them.

    Well, they do make a sea zone hostile with regard to unescorted TP’s. So I guess the answer is yes and no.

    I figured that’s what you were planning to do with the Russian units in Turkmenistan, but in most games(where Sealion isn’t tried or successful if it’s tried) you’re better off letting the UK claim Persia and only taking Iraq with the Russians since Iraq is the only territory that gives Russia the bonus NO.

    In games where Germany doesn’t DOW Russia until G3 or G4 you’ll be letting those units and income sit idle for a long time. Plus, UK can use the income and they’re usually pretty desperate for units down there with Italy coming from one side and Japan coming from the other. Once Japan starts taking the South Pacific Islands, UK Pacific’s income drops sharply. Usually to around 6 or 7. UK Pacific doesn’t get the income since it’s on the Europe map, but they definitely could use the extra infantry. Especially if China is in bad shape or if Japan makes a big move to attack Calcutta.

    That being said, you raise some interesting points.  The UK was the obvious choice for down there, but of course they have a few issues back home lol.  So, in this case, is it best that Russia go for the extra NO?  I debated that for a while, then decided that this game would be a good reflection to see what happens either way.  Of course, the UK DOES have a pretty good lock on Egypt for a few turns which helps – otherwise it would seem to be an almost irrelevant point as Italy would blast through the whole area…
