Yeah, FranceNeedsMorePower is in that skill range.
Happy playing!
would you guys be interested in trying a “new” version I just made?
it is a 5 player variant,
and all sides begin more-or-less equal
see this link for details:

I don’t mind trying this new map variant!
In that case we should change our Nation’s preferences:
Playable factions are:
Austria+Prussia as one power
France
Ottoman Empire
UK
Russia
They should all be equally strong.
I’d try a 5-player version.
Still would like Ottomans.
if you guys don’t mind waiting til the weekend after this one to start, that would be really nice
i hope to release triplea 1.6.1 with the 5-player version included in it before then
(and a tweaked version of the 8-player ffa as well, with some balancing adjustments)

Sure we’re still recruiting, do you want to play Veqryn?
you’ve got 4 people already, so i’ll skip this round so that someone else can join,
i need to go on a business trip soon
I’ll try Austria-Prussia or The Empire of Seth as it shall be called, with it’s capital Sethopolis. 8-)
France: Noll
Prusstria: Seththen00b
Ottoman Empire: wheatbeer
UK: Gargantua?
Russia: ???
Need 1 (or 2) more players!
Depending on the speed of the game (if you are in a hurry another player might be better), I’d like to try this game and chose Sweden.
(in a hurry I mean immediate reply instead of 1 to 2 days)
no hurry, but we might try the new 5players version.
Would you like to play Russia?
Sure!
France: Noll

UK: Gargantua?
Russia: Alexgreat
If Gargantua confirms we can start
triplea 1.6.1 comes with the 5 player version
much easier if you guys all use that…
Thats the version labelled “unstable” on the webiste. Is it ok to use? And how will it affect running AA games under the old version?
Thx Veqryn!

you SHOULD play this :P
yep, but that doesnt answer my questions ;)
And in general I avoid anything unstable on the net.

The stable 1.6.1 should have been released yesterday.

We follow a naming convention that means that until my releases get down to the last digit, and I feel they have been tested enough, we called it “unstable”.
1.5.2.1 has many bugs, some of which are fatal errors that completely stop play (forcing you to close the game and reload an older savegame).
1.6.1 has fixed all of those bugs, and as far as I can tell has no bugs. 1.6.1 is at least as “stable” as 1.5.2.1 is.
“unstable” does not mean triplea can affect anything outside of triplea. The worst that can happen is a bug that ruins your current autosave and closes the game, and 1.5.2.1 has 2 or 3 of those already, which are fixed in 1.6.1.
i’m currently recommending all people start new games on 1.6.1
Thx Veqryn, appreciated. Only one question that remains unclear to me: Can I import old games into 1.6.1 and continue playing?
As for bugs, the only thing I ever encountered is problems after you look at the game history. Other than that no errors that I remember.
The community owes you big time, thx for that. The only - minor - thing that I have difficulty with are the icons, eg cruiser and battleships, fighter and tacs, tacs and bombers, colours for ANZAC and US. But again, this is no complaint :)
PS: Right now, a friend and me are trying to figure out how to play over the net in real time, is that part working well (ports and stuff…)? I seem to remember there is a link to a “to do” wiki page, right?
