@nikola1975 Please use second post. I needed to keep a few more units in UK. Undid move to take Ireland.

Collect 84, 85 on handHm. Looks like I’m all in on Hawaii - if you take it it’s game over.
Even though I have 85 IPC’s with America, in the 50’s with UK, ANZ is alive and well, and France is making 20. Russia still alive, Italy reduced to turtle in capital…. feels wrong… but then, I’m sure I played it wrong, too… too used to the old ways… -
Well, luck needs to weigh in for haw….you never know.
-
Yeah, it’s somewhere around 60/40 I think
Not sure if it’s better for you to wait - probably not
I don’t know, I’ll just throw around random advice like you do, hoping the other player will take some bad advice thinking it’s good :wink:Stack North Italy, etc… very funny :-)
-
Yeah, 60/40 is what I see to. So Just slightly good dice for you could throw it.
Random advice? Ha, ha… well, I think sometimes it has been spot on. If you play the bluff game, sometimes your advice has got to be credible.
I do think if you had blown out 31 successfully and then blocked you may have stopped my attack on Haw. :|

I’m feeling doomed… I don’t think I like these victory conditions and it’s not just because of this game… But it really feels wrong to lose over losing India and then Hawaii for one round…
Come on, Larry, if the Allies were to win in Europe and Japan took Australia, Hawaii, and India, do you really think the Allies would just stop and call it good and let the Empire of Japan be? tongue
I don’t think I’d like it if I was playing the Axis either… oh well, I knew it was part of the game when I agreed to play - don’t mind meTrust me, I hear you. The games I have lost as the allies I thought I was winning only to have Haw or Ind get snatched for the win kind of unexpectedly.
It’s a tough calculation. One could have eased up on Germany, diverted US forces to Pacific, allowed Russia to fall, but secured Cairo and then collapsed Japan. But then letting Germany take out Russia seems counter-intuitive and hard to swallow. But to take Cairo by land is tough, tough, tough and impossible if the US can divert 90-100% of its forces there after Japan is contained/conquered.
I have gamed it out for the win by world domination/conquest (the old way to play). World domination is possible for an ascendant Germany if Japan falls, but impossible for an ascendant Japan alone if Germany falls. Just too many IPCs on the Europe side.

maybe you can clarify something for me, when rolling for tech can you buy a die, then roll, then buy another die and the roll again if unsuccessful, or do you have to buy them all up front?
-
hmm, rules look like you have to buy all up front.
-
Yes, you have to decide how many to roll and roll them all. You can’t buy more after failing (thank goodness, otherwise I would throw good money after bad)
Thx for comments on victory conditions. Very interesting. If you win with Hawaii it will be a real bummer to not continue my campaign in Europe, but dem’s da rules
-
ok, sounds good. No that its a secret Japan is going for the tech.
If you get UK up I will be sure to get Italy up ASAP tonight.
-
No, you had lulled me to sleep by never buying one so it had not occurred to me.
UK tonight is a good possibility -
No, you had lulled me to sleep by never buying one so it had not occurred to me.
That actually made me laugh out loud and caused my wife to ask and I had to try to explain… which as anyone I think who is married on this forum knows is a major losing proposition…
-
Yeah, even though we know they won’t appreciate it and it makes no sense, we still want to include them in on a little of the fun. And then regret it.
-
Ha, she calls me “a nerd” … and then laughs. I tell her better this than being crazy obsessed by the Giants or 49s and watching/gonging to every game… wait, that sounds fun… :-o
-
That’s right, at least you are engaged in intellectually stimulating activity. And you’re in the house. And it doesn’t cost money. So it’s a lot better than golf.
