yeah, 10fts with available ground would be formidable.
-
No, I mean impossible :-)
-
But…. I’m not sure that’s even the best course of action. I might need to invite you to invade, hoping you fail and lose a lot of air or something.
It’s gonna take me awhile to decide US move again… :-P
-
hmm, interesting. Pull back a little, let me spend my units on the beaches, build huge counter-strike force, and then clear me out? That could work.

Right, that’s one of the things to think about…
I don’t think you know what I’m hinting at with the impossible to invade Hawaii comment, but I see no harm in tipping my hand a bit…It is very likely that I can successfully destroyer block Z25, 30, and 31. Even the Italian bomber can’t stop it.
-
So I MIGHT try to clear 31 and block all 3 passages, thus clearing 31 and not having to worry about Hawaii J11 :-)
-
I don’t know yet -
I’ll try to not keep us in suspense for too long…
Need to shower and eat and do a bunch of honeydos though… -
ah yes, the Italian bomber…. not like anyone couldn’t figure out why it’s there.
well, sub are cheap, cheap cheap for you… so counter strike force could not costs too much.
-
hmm… yeah, us ftrs on midway with 1 dd, 3 or so dd’s in 31. that could do it.
-
what scares me too is that your definitely do some luck and sz31 could be just a huge wash for you with me hitting like only 1 or 2… :-(
-
No, I wouldn’t do it by protecting the US destroyer, I would replace the spot with an ANZ destroyer! ANZ goes after Italy and before Japan! :-)
-
6 dice need to be thrown for Z39 damage
Rolls: 6@3; Total Hits: 16@3: (3, 6, 4, 5, 6, 5) -
Now you’re down to 75!
-
ha, I should have killed that anzac dd in 30… well I can only kick myself if that proves to be the winning move.
-
I guess we should both be glad to have a game that tight
I’m not sure preventing you from invading Hawaii for one more round is even the best way to go….
But it should be a nail-biter however it plays out…
-
hmm… yeah looking at the odds, you should win sz31, but if the dice go ill, could be very bad, particularly if you choose bombers over ftrs first round and I chose to lose cvs.
The dice will tell us.
-
further, I think I see a way for you to try keep sz12 open for counter attack on haw
-
ha, now I see why I did not attack the Anzac stuff… interesting. Its a bad sign usually when moves are based on the complicated/anticipated moves of your opponent, thus I try not to let what they may do affect what I do, too much at least. We must just overwhelm the defenders of Hawaii!

This is my “problem”. That’s how I play. It takes forever to play that way in G40. Not that I try to figure out everything you might do, but mainly plan for what I think is your best move, or what I fear you’ll do (I play chess the same way).
But even before this game, I thought G40 might just have so many possibilities that you can’t really play that way anymore. But it’s probably easier for the Allies to do that than the Axis.
-
I should probably revise that statement to the extent I think, like in chess, you want to be moving in such a way as to keep the initiative and cause your opponent to react and not vice versa. Once you start reacting you are on the defensive and subject to manipulation. But that being said, sometimes you just got to react in defense no matter what.
