@HHFrenchRepublic12
The conceit in “East & West” is that minor powers just bond to a major power, once they become active in the war. So, what I had suggested was that France would become part of Western Europe, and the Arab League would become part of the UK, if/when they’re at war with the USSR.
It just keeps things a lot cleaner, in terms of not having to reinvent the turn order, and other stuff which might add overhead.
World at War Rules questions

ya I think there starting to re-print the first editon because of the demand
-
really? i heard ‘xeno’ folded a few years ago…
-
and it’s far too small… he takes the original board, shrinks it, splits up territories and seazones and adds islands… so you have a greater need for space but less of it… grr…
Wait… the Xeno board is actually smaller then the A&A one? Gezzz… are there at least any blow up boxes?
-
yeah… but they’re not terribly useful…
-
Why do they still have stupid blow up boxes of Cuba or a few Japanese islands that really aren’t used… :-?
-
bah. blow up boxes are irritating anyway… people invariably forget about them except maybe uk’s and possibly germany’s… just make the actual territorise larger. who cares if it’s not to scale?!
-
wtf are u talking about ! the Xeno board is Much bigger then the World board! 8)
-
not the one i’ve got…

Heheheheh… I’m one that likes to pay attention to the board, especially the blow up boxes. This is perfect like when the try to invade UK or Germany, and I’m like… s"orry you didn’t see my extra inf, ftrs, subs, trns in my blow up boxes? Too bad, this battle is going to cost you then."
-
bahahahah one time playin World at war. i was japana and i put my garison for Japan in the blow up box. and every one forgot about them. so by the hird turn id alrdy delcared war and Britain took Japan by turn 3 cus nobody notced the 10 Inf in the blow up box lol till it was 2 late
-
Yep, I had that happen before.
I remember this one time a uSA naval force attacked the Sea of Japan hoping to destroy my expensive transport fleet. WRONG!!! I guess he didn’t see the 1 AC w/ 2 ftrs and 2 BBs parked in the blow up box. Regardless, that battle did not go well for him.
-
did you not feel morally obligated to point this out to your opponent and offer him/her a chance to retract his/her move?
-
If I’m winning… probably. :)
But if I’m losing… no. -
well if there not observant then its there problem.
-
as far as i’m concerned it’s cheating… but if you’re so insecure about your gaming abilities or so insecure in your self that you can’t bear to lose…
-
ya its just a game, well if your in a turnament and it is fun to win and see your strategies work…and you feel bad about loosing and that could get you depresed and evenchuly making you commit suside
DOH! I geuss it isnt just a game
-
Hey Cameron,
Have you seen the Map I made? I made a new one that is even better than the one I posted before. I changed employers reciently and my new company has a color ploter. I can print maps up to 36 inches wide. Needles to say after a couple weeks my gaming group played on my new 3 foot by 6 foot World at War map :D
I’ll have to get a picture to post, I think we took some at the last game.
Hehe after 18 hours of playing I was actualy In a good position as Germany! I had reduced Russia to 2 territories and he was whithdrawing toward Africa. We ended up calling the game because It was gettign hard to stay awake!
-
That W@W game can take awhile.
18 hours is truly hardcore.Have you gone as far as to paint the game pieces?
If not, what do you do to distinguish the special units in the game, like, for instance, the Panzergrenadiers? -
Sometimes when I read messages on these boards it is like people are looking over my shoulder.
I have 3 coppies of the original game that I use for the pieces. I have sepperated the peices and painted special forces like SS and Guards in a gloss. I have also painted the bases of several Infantry units white to signify Airborne. I have several diferent expansion sets including AAE and EEU, I use many of the units out of those.

looks over dezrtfish’s shoulder
Ah I see, nice.

_The Conflict is a global-strategy based game designed around the economic and military conditions of Europe in 1914. Players play in one of two alliances, The Central Powers or The Allied Powers, to defeat their opponents. Players choose among seven nations (Austria-Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Ottoman Empire, and Russia). After selecting a nation, players take turns completing their objectives during each round.
The Conflict has been extensively tested and designed by gamers for gamers. Players will take their turn each round to strengthen their tactical advantages and defend the borders of their nation. Each turn is broken down into Phases. Players must complete each previous phase in order to proceed onward with the rest of their turn. If a player decides to enter into combat with another player, they must, along with their opponent, roll a set number of D12 dice to determine the outcome of each individual battle. The Conflict uniquely deducts a combat penalty from the player with the weakest military strength in a territory. This combat penalty is taken off all of their dice rolls during the individual combat. The combat penalty allows for the strongest opponent to have a real-world advantage over their enemy, if they have a larger military presence in the area. Players can develop multiple (land, naval, and air) strategies to succeed. They can utilize 11 military units with unique capabilities to complete specific goals, upgrade technology, play one of three victory scenarios, as well as try a variety of player preferences.
