    I’m not understanding some rules here…

    I have mounted/horse units in Galicia.  They can Blitz - obviously.  I can go 2 spaces Anywhere!  Except… I can’t?  WTF.

    I can’t Blitz to the defence of Vienna. (Which is why I stationed troops in Galicia). And as an example I can’t blitz to Serbia either, even though the ottomans and austrians are at war.

    What am I missing here?

    you can mount units onto horses? like mechanized infantry!?!??! that doesn’t make any sense.

    I thought you can only send horses, but I wasn’t too sure on how open borders worked if you can blitz. technically you two are not allies, you have open borders and are at peace, but not allied.

    I can understand why open borders does not allow blitzing, because someone could in theory blitz a big stack past your main forces right next to your major city and SURPRISE backstab you. that would totally suck and make people even more reluctant to have open border policies.

    at the same time, horses do move two spaces.going to test it out in solo mode blank game.

    yes your horses can move 2 spaces in non combat through allies.

    horses are cavalry and they pack men already… you can’t pack more men… so your infantry do not make it sorry. I am not crazy, I go attack your friend’s capital.

    Horses/Mounted  is the same as saying Armor/Tanks.

    Different description for the same unit.

    I am not looking to “carry” infantry on my mobile units lol.  I am just wondering why the HELL they can’t do what the rules say they can do!

    For going to Serbia, please move your horses to Transylvania THEN click on them again and move them to Serbia.

    Same thing with going to Vienna.  Stop in Moravia for a drink at the well, then continue to Vienna.

    Horses need a drink, or they will overheat.

  • Oh shizzah, I didn’t realize I couldn’t move through that strait. I thought I had the terr that controls that strait! That really messes up my buy and strat :oops:

    They’ve got no cannon there, run the strait, damn the torpedoes! I was planning on blocking sz9, putting my fleet to sz11 to reinforce denmark and block UK landings, put my general at skane to build navy, and stack my capital from ostra + build. Now whatever I do, something will be left open.

    How so? Not this turn unless he suicides his brig and gets a lucky hit. He’d have probably gotten Finland anyway if he really wanted it as he could’ve transported 3 more men over. Maybe he would’ve waited a turn . . . but Russian troops up north don’t suit my purposes. Now he can move them south against prussia which is pretty lightly defended in light of all the naval buying going on.

    The way I see it, he can take Finland and get his 3 there. I got 6 out of the suicide, which is 2 turns of collecting for me and likely the most I could’ve hoped for. He’s free to move ALL his troops back south save an infantry for the walkin. Transport could catch him up later. In the meantime, he could have a 14 troops in minsk with another 4 (marine can reach via brig since you aren’t at war yet) in latvia. If he advances one general to minsk and one to novgorad, he could build 3 more troops(maybe arty) and put another 3 cavalry in range of your border terr and at least 2 more cav back in moscow(maybe more depending on build preferences). Next turn, more cavalry builds + 6 cavalry from his southern border which he could start moving up this turn and get them to the party in time. Turn after that, Prussia will cease to be a nation in this game. And this is why Prussia cannot afford to be a naval power in this game.

    And Russia, sorry if I ruined your surprise if that’s what you’re doing. But he’d see it right after you went anyway. And if you weren’t already planning this, I hope you are now. You still have 3 turns to his 2 in order to make this happen. Austria will likely be too busy trying to keep France from taking it’s capital to contribute much if anything. I have absolutely no interest in trying to rein him and the turks/brits aren’t in position to help him either even if they wanted to. I still think it would’ve worked much better had you accepted my ceasefire and then eventual open borders since I’d have had troops to do a 1-2 punch and/or can open so your cavalry could ride ahead and lobotomize him by sacking the capital. And regardless of what you said earlier, I was two turns away from Moscow and not one. And had absolutely no intention of trying to see how far I could get since I had my eye on Prussia and figured England would threaten me from the west pulling my navy/transports that way. Goof  :roll:

    By my calculations, you could hit Prussia’s capital with have something on the order of 39+ troops if you moved EVERYTHING towards Prussia. Maybe more if I cleared his navy so you could land a couple more troops.

    Cow, yes most actions seem to cost ipcs. I know declaring war is free though and maybe downgrading everything else is also free. Seems like it costs to improve your relationship, but it’s free to go down. I could be wrong though.


  • Even if he manages to scrounge up enough D to stop your first try, you already outproduce him and that disparity will become larger as France/Ottomans/Russia/& Sweden eat into his terr.
