BOOM AND DOOM!
Napoleonic Empires: Free For All

Hey Prussia (Garg),
Could you keep your 1 unit in Hesse please?
In exchange, I am giving you Mecklenburg, even though I could have taken it.
Thanks,
King George III

The Emperor is feeling nervous and is getting paranoid….he has some plans, but awaiting the Prussian move
If you hadn’t backstabbed me Prussia wouldn’t be worrying you anymore!
well you did stack some troops next to my border and only one territory away from Moscow 8-)
I never moved ANY troops towards/accross the border until AFTER you declined my ceasefire offer and you accepted Prussia’s peace.
I blame it all on the Ohio State flag you display…I live in Michigan. Of course I do not even like Big Ten (aka amateur) football…SEC RULES!
-
Austria, you were too late in asking for aid. You underestimated the might of France and your people shall kneel before the emperor! PREPARE TO FACE THE FULL MIGHT OF NAPOLEON. My Musketeers live off of guns and horses and they shall bathe in the blood of barbarians.
-
Prussia you can make this easy and I shall ride south or you can make this hard and I shall ride north.
-
I believe I got 70% on austria next turn, unless I miss calculated…
Also in a free for all there is no such thing as liberation right?? once you dead you be dead right?

You have very good odds on Salzburg, but there is no way to get to Austria next turn so long as Austria is smart enough to put a blocker in Bohemia (and there is already a fortress in Salzburg). Vienna can not be reached on next turn as it is 2 spaces away from your forces.
To answer your question, technically there is such a thing as an ally liberating you. It only occurs if a player is fully “allied” with the dead player.
Right now, noone in the game is fully allied. On top of that, normally when a player dies, whoever is their ally quickly “un-allies” themselves with the dead player, that way they capture the territories instead of liberating. Also, when players die, they normally leave the game too.
Of course, Austria can liberate his own capital. So you aren’t “dead” until you are out of units and also out of territories/factories.

Actually Cow you WOEFULLY misscalculated! Not on only on the distance to the capital and the number of units needed to take it but also on the strength of my alliance with the Prussians! You are well under 30% to take the capital 2 turns from now.
I would have thought you were used to massing enough units and visualizing yourself taking capitals in the east…

What the…? I did the turn but I didn’t got posted? I’ll have to do it again :-P

OK, guys, seems that now all is right. I’m not sure if this was a glitch or if I failed to do something… I hope all is OK
-
What the…? I did the turn but I didn’t got posted? I’ll have to do it again :-P
I always save the game right after all battles are done and the non-combat move has started, just in case I crash the computer or something else bad happens.
-
A day to be remembered! The british occupation of Gibraltar has ended! The Spanish flag waved proudly on the Rock! Now the straits are ours! Portuguese rebels will be dealt in no time. And then, next stop Mayorca!
However, our armies suffered some comunication issues that we have to solve… did we attacked them or not…? The Prince of Peace will ensure that next time all will be perfect!

Good advice… I’ll follow it

I’m not understanding some rules here…
I have mounted/horse units in Galicia. They can Blitz - obviously. I can go 2 spaces Anywhere! Except… I can’t? WTF.
I can’t Blitz to the defence of Vienna. (Which is why I stationed troops in Galicia). And as an example I can’t blitz to Serbia either, even though the ottomans and austrians are at war.
What am I missing here?
-
you can mount units onto horses? like mechanized infantry!?!??! that doesn’t make any sense.
I thought you can only send horses, but I wasn’t too sure on how open borders worked if you can blitz. technically you two are not allies, you have open borders and are at peace, but not allied.
-
Veqryn is more familiar with the rules.
I can understand why open borders does not allow blitzing, because someone could in theory blitz a big stack past your main forces right next to your major city and SURPRISE backstab you. that would totally suck and make people even more reluctant to have open border policies.
-
at the same time, horses do move two spaces.going to test it out in solo mode blank game.
-
yes your horses can move 2 spaces in non combat through allies.
horses are cavalry and they pack men already… you can’t pack more men… so your infantry do not make it sorry. I am not crazy, I go attack your friend’s capital.
-
Horses/Mounted is the same as saying Armor/Tanks.
Different description for the same unit.
I am not looking to “carry” infantry on my mobile units lol. I am just wondering why the HELL they can’t do what the rules say they can do!
-
yeah i told you, they move in non combat.
