BOOM AND DOOM!
Stalingradski (Axis) vs. Antholin (Allies) A3 Game 2
-
It is the can opener effect of the Italian/German mechanized forces. This is our second practice game, sir! I think you’re learning the game at an exponential rate, against experienced and decent players. I wish I could have a drink with you!
If you’d like to stop now, shake it off, and start our first official game with you as the Axis, I’m all for it.
-
Also - I’m up for analysis of this game anytime. I have some thoughts.
-
No, no. I was just venting, and very mad at myself for leaving Moscow open. I thought I left enough forces there, but I missed the Mechs.
Thank you for being a good sport, I just had to vent a little and I certainly wasn’t mad at you. I really want to keep playing, as I am learning quite a bit. And I’m actually beginning to enjoy playing as the Allies. Thanks again.
-
Understood re: venting. I spent two straight hours (with the help of a fair amount of vodka) making Steve miserable last time he was here… the luck was killing me, but worse, I left Egypt open to Germany on G4… ugh. So early to make such a mistake. In A&A, I usually find that my best learned lessons tend to be fatal.
And, I vowed to never harangue him like that again… until next time!
On to Moscow -

Well, at least Belarus is giving your combined forces a bloody good kicking. :-P I’m proud of them.
-
Germany collects 51 + 15 NO + 31 = 97 IPCs.
-
That damned Belarussian unit deserves a monument.
-
And I shall build it, out of scrapped Wehrmacht Panzers, Luftwaffe aircraft and the bodies of those pesky SS bastards.
-
Well, I’m trying a different method here. We shall see if it works out in the end. But, I like to experiment with odd and what some may call, unsound theories. Hee, hee.
Attacking Belarus with 2 Inf & 2 Fighters.

Ooh, I just looked and the end of next turn will give you 8 victory cities for Europe. So, this might end much sooner that I thought. Good game.

Japan purchases 11 Infantry, Carrier, Sub, Airbase = 70 IPCs.

I don’t see me holding 8 cities in Europe through the end of the next turn…

As usual, the balancing act of playing the USA befuddles me and leaves me with more question than answer. And away we go.
