I’ll sign up as tripleA veteran. I’ve played lots of AA50 but had about a year break and after I reconnected with aa.org I have (including still running games) played around ten games of global. A little less than a week ago I may have sneaked in as a tripleA newbie but at the moment I got three games going.

Btw in case I fails to latch on to a newbie, what exactly are the definition of a newbie?  :evil:

“newbie” is a maliable “guideline”.  As long the effort to include new"er" players is made, it’s all good.

Understanding the -spirit- of the concept of the tournament is what matters.  That’s explain under the PURPOSE of the tournment, where it is posted.

Since the idea was to get new players to play TripleA and I was allready hooked I deemed myself a non-newbie not so much due to experience but to level of attachment to triplea.  :-)

I have not conversed or played with you before but I have read a few of your posts and you seem to know what you’re talking about at least as much as the rest of these assholes! And you are a pretty active member of the community.

I am fairly new to TripleA. One game of Great-war completed where I got completely owned and one game of 1942 in progress where I am currently pushing my boot ever harder onto the throat of none other than GARGANTUA! (Yeah buddy, I know you’ll read this.  :evil:) However, I am not new to AA or Global (at least an as much as you can be semi-experienced in a game that takes 7 hours min.) I’ve got an ear or two on m AA belt but I’m no absoloute pro. Feel like fighting from the same corner?

I’ve played the Final Alpha about 7-8 times. (Other Alphas several times).

I’m asking another, but if your partner and my partner reject us then we’ll play together…wait…that doesn’t sound right. :lol:

Am I happy with the final result???  Yes, definitely.  After playing the Final a few times, it seems there is a lot of playable strategies:

Sealion is possible but doesn’t guarantee you the game,
Russia’s Comme NatObj is really effective in Scandinavia, MidEast and Africa not just the Eastern Front,
Mongolia rule is wacky but it works great,
several gambits for Axis include a G1, G2, J1, J2 moves in different combos. 
Mediterrean is always interesting.
A lot of action everywhere on the board it seems, there is no one linear strategy like Classic, Revised or AA50 IMHO.

I find this game is very fluid with plenty of play everywhere on the board.  Finest edition ever IMHO.  Very pleased. :-)

Personally, I’m a TripleA vet but a Global noob.  That’s like the worst combination.  Like, all teams need a TripleA noob, and since it’s a Global tournament, you obviously want experienced Global players.  Oh well, it’s like when you gotta wear a Speedo at the nightclub, better just swing with what ya got.

Anyways, I’m picking up Global skills, but will definitely need a TripleA noob.  So, Vold, let’s you and me get a really smexy Global vet and put off games until we are so pro everyone screams and kowtows when we enter the room eh.  In Speedos.

We can call our team the “Voldemorts” (Harry Potter reference).  Or maybe “The Iron Fist in the Velveteen Rabbit” (buncha odd references there)  Or yeah, maybe the “Speedo Beasts”.  Woha.
