your welcome. just wanted to show everyone that this isn’t a hoax.

  • @Cromwell_Dude:

I’m not really optimistic that the younger generation will play 1941 when they enjoy the touch apps on a SmartPhone, let alone the dumbing down of our culture.   With that said, I am very interested to see if this younger generation bites and enjoys the game.  I hope so.   It would be interesting to see the age demographics of people playing Axis and Allies online.  Â

I’m 15 and the only reason I haven’t bought any of the games yet is beucase the ones people say are good (Global, Revised, AA50), are sio riducously expensive now.

If you can only afford $20-30 you could get Spring 1942.  I recommended it to a 14 year old student of mine and he bought it.  It’s as good a buy as any of the other games, considering it’s a lot cheaper.  If you can’t afford more than $30 it’s really your only good option

I can afford it, but I’m not sure I want to spend 200$ or so on a board game.

  • G40 will be more affordable by the end of the year ;)

  • i hope so, Europe is around 200$ alone.

  • If you actually wanted revised, consider that Spring 42 is actually revised, but tweaked and a lil’ better.

And if money is an issue, I would grab it right away, maybe even used to save more, since the 2nd edition of 42 that’s coming will be more expensive.

  • You might as well get used to the different transport rules (no defense, and can’t be taken until last) and get Spring 1942, because if you ever play a game 2008 or newer you will have to unlearn the old strategies.  It’s a lot different, not being able to take transports off first and lone transports being utterly defenseless…  Also, the SBR rules since 2008 have involved damage markers as it is no longer possible to “bomb their bank account” directly.

Spring 1942 has these rules that are similar to Anniversary and Global so I would definitely skip Revised since it’s 2012 now.
