Dice are crazy
This week I was playing a Settlers of Catan offshoot, and we rolled like 5 3’s in the first 20 rolls… (2 dice) Also, sometimes snake eyes keep popping upPlayed Monopoly with the speed dice with my boy about a week ago, and I rolled triple 1’s twice in a row. (Triples allow you to go anywhere you want on the board) The speed die has one 1, one 2 and one 3 on it, so the odds of triples are 3/216. The odds of rolling triples twice in a row are then .000193 or .02%, and the odds of rolling triple 1’s twice in a row are .0000214335 or .002%.
You can draw your own conclusions - just wanted to throw a few things out there from recent experience

Having played board games IRL, I have never seen dice as lucky as on here.

sorry obg, had 61 and 60 reversed in my mind when i typed up the combat move. the haw ftrs went to 60 and the z50 ftrs went to z61, my bad on the typing there.

technically the typing was of course wrong and that’s my fault entirely of course. it was a pure and simple mistake of thinking i had the map memorized in my head while typing the move. there would be no reason whatsoever to force my fighters to remain in z61, as i’m sure you can see. you have caught me again and it’s up to you on how you want me to proceed. if you insist that i adjust my noncombat move to match the combat typing, it’s your right.

by no reason whatsoever, i’m referring to me not having a reason. you of course would have a reason… :-)
-
once again, i have to apologize for a typing error. let me know what you want to do.
-
i guess if you were to insist that i move 5 acc to z60, it would probably be the game right there. i promise you i had no intention of moving the fleet to z61 and that this was a simple sea zone dyslexia. i hope you will agree and this very good game can continue rather than focusing on a technicality. as i said in the G opening, i would have been willing to allow you to reroll your entire turn if you wanted to change the combat move and add two tanks going to bst. if you want, i’d be happy to reroll the US round (where the US took no casualties). if you feel like i actually intended to leave the fighters in z61 without movement, let me know, but if we were playing IRL, i promise you that you would have seen me lift the fighters off haw and place them in z60 on the map.
-
i commend your attention to detail. i think there are only a few players on the site that would have even noticed. i just hope you wont insist to hang me on these reversed sea zones… :| again, i wish i had handled the G1 differently and i would have for SURE if i had known how much it upset you. i am at your mercy obg, completely caught with my hands down. i haven’t studied the map to see if there is any way that moving the acc to z61 could be mitigated, but my gut reaction is it would be complete disaster for the US and cost the allies the game pretty much immediately.
-
for purposes of honor in this game, which i believe by now we are both interested in, i am willing to redo the US turn, even to sacrifice material. but to say that accidentally reversing those two sea zones should cost me the game outright doesn’t sit quite right with me, and i doubt it does with you either. i hope you were just pointing it out as a discrepancy and are not implying that i move at least 5 acc to 61. and if you are, that you are doing it tongue in cheek since you know it would cost me the game. and of course to make me squirm for a while since you have the cold hard facts of the typing sitting right there on the page… :-) i think it very unlikely that you will actually insist on a full scale change in the game over this. i can appreciate all these possibilities, and the jury is out, looking forward to hear what you think is the best way to handle it.
-
Well, I can honestly say I am not sure yet. It looks to me if I let it stand as you intended instead of as typed, that pretty much means Japan is toast and it would cost me the game. Still thinking about it and have not made up my mind yet.
