    Hm, I thought you had to have a naval combat to to scramble, but I see the rules allow it even to resists amphib assault.  My mistake.

    Well that changes everything. I can just redo Germany with that understanding.

    You can send other naval units along the TT and CA I think, but even then it would be a very risky fight since my air can only shoot at your surface ships, and you can send planes with them as well, but then they can’t participate in the fight for Nov itself of course.
    Either is fine for me: you do the German turn completely again or if you want to rearrange the fight for z115/Nov only, then that’s also fine for me, we all make mistakes.

    The scramble rule has got some problems.  As I read it, I can only move units into combat situations on cm, meaning I cannot move air units into 115 to counter your anticipated counter attack…… I don’t even think I can move my cv into 115.  Blah, that’s silly.  Given that, there is no way I’d move a cc, dd vs 2ftr, tacb.

    According to the rules, my planes cannot hit your SS because I do not have a DD present in the sz, and your SS can’t hit my planes anyways. Now I’m not sure what happens when my SS rolls a successful hit. Does it hit your SS or does it hit a surface warship? I think it hits a surface ship because it can’t “see” the SS without a DD, no?

    no, my ss can choose to be hit by your ss.  If you have no dd, it may hide but does not have too.  In this context my ss’s will defend.

    not sure this is going the Axis’s way. I have to admit that sealion does slow things up for the Axis…

    If you can eliminate the Japanese fleet of the Philippines, I think it will be all down hill for the Allies… but if my kamikazes are lucky…  :wink:


  • That can be true indeed, I think the problem for the axis in Europe was that you left a lot of your precious valuable units in the UK, giving Russia a real good chance to make a stand. And now you’re out of transports to bring them over to the Eastern Front, sure you can rebuild them, but that would only spell doom for Germany. The result is that Russia is on the same level of production as Germany now, whilst the Japanese are not coming through in the Far East and the Italians were smashed too badly to be of any significance.
    But I do think that even if the fight for the Phillipines sea zone goes bad for the allies, it will still be near impossible to force a Pacific win for the Axis, India is far from being taken and the Anzac can properly defend itself untill the USA comes with a new fleet, which it can produce easily since Germany lacks the income to defend the Atlantic territories and take out Russia at the same time.
