More importantly, in round 2 I overrolled for the Soviets.
You should have been left with 2 mech, 2 art (or 4 mech) to roll 4@2.

I guess that depends if the server can roll a d5.
If this works, then whatever number rolled is the casualty from r1.
So a 1, 2, or 5 means the result is the same.
A 3 or 4 means Italy’s tank survives.
