Fascinating. Similar U.S. evaluation work (for a Japanese aircraft) was done in the case of the Akutan Zero:

I vaguely recall seeing an old Popular Mechanics cover which showed an alternate solution to the problem of widening the Panama Canal to accommodate warships broader than the 110-foot width of the locks: building a railway that would allow the US to move battleships overland from the Atlantic to the Pacific and vice-versa.

Heres just a thought paint your 911 Porsche with the black and red Iron cross and on the front bumper have PANZER written backwards and on the rear bumper/spoiler the same thing but not backwards

A more realistic distance is over 800 statute miles.

Zero had a range of 1,600 miles, so yes thats consistent with Sakai’s account over Java.

Also, they had over 400 Zeros in active service by July 1940.

I wonder how many other tanks are still out there…well, under there in Europe and Russia. There were many tank battles and with the marshes in Russia, if a tank got in, it was definitely hard to get out.
