  • I am sorry Yoshi, I am going to resign again for obvious reasons.  Nice start to your league season!

    Cheers

  • Your fleet was vulnerable and I felt with the tough start again, it was possibly my best chance to get back some of the early losses.  Perhaps it was not the best move to make, but the odds told me that the chance to sink a battleship and 2 transports while risking the cruiser and submarine which were dead soon anyway was well worth it.  But to lose my entire airforce while killing nothing in Z7 is most certainly the end of the game.

    Cheers

  • Well, why not finish the battle right, you never know with dice…

    Z7 round 2
    A - fighter, bomber
    DiceRolls: 1@3 1@4; Total Hits: 11@3: (5)1@4: (4)
    D - destroyer, ac, 2 fighters, battleship

  • Z7 round 3

  • Wish you had rolled those dice earlier, but your super first round pretty much was the end.

    Cheers

  • Now I really am done, go ahead and declare your win.  Was sure nice playing you and I wish you some better luck in the future :-P

  • @LuckyLindy:

I give up.  i was >50% to sink your fleet here, which may have given me a chance.

According to my calculator, I believe you had 48,46% of winning (meaning killing the trannies).

But bad luck indeed for you here. Looks like you gambled a lot in this game, and it definitely did not pay off.

Well, looks like we cannot play another league game, and with the 2012 tournament coming, I prefer not to offer a friendly game yet.

    Cheers,

    Yoshi

Let’s just say that my gambles did not pay off and your gambles did.  In addition, your gambles were better than mine of course (meaning less risk), but once they started to pay off, I felt a bigger gamble was needed.  Not a good combination for me.

Maybe we will be able to play again in the tournament.  :-)

    Cheers

  • I felt that against a player of your ability, if I did not take the 50/50 chance to slow the Allies there, you would just play very conservative and grind me away.

  • I think that sz7 was not a bad move. I was wondering how Germany would manage to survive with almost no air. As UK had money in hand, I think I could survive a loss there if I got a good part of your air in the process - at least 2 fighters. Anyway, you did not have any choice after the italian navy move…

But there are others gambling which were too much I think (the biggest one : sz50 ; you really have only 1 chance over 7 to win something, whereas you have 4 over 7 to be in trouble). Sending the BB instead of the fgt in the attack would have made a safer attack, prevent from any counter, increase your odds in Kwa by sending your fighter there instead, and you could still defend sz62 with a loaded CV.

I gambled only once : in Bul, where I was only risking a single infantry, which was supposed to be dead during G1 anyway ; and indeed it paid off like hell. The FIC attack was not a gamble, since I was sending a dead unit there.

But that’s a pity that you were so unlucky in these two games, we were not even able to play :(

  • You are right, it is a pity.  Maybe in the tournament, if I can make it to the final (since I am pretty sure you will be there)  :-)

    Cheers
