So if you take out all of those ships, leaving yourself with a bomber that is a 17 point swing in TUV and effectively stopping the UK from doing anything. I’m not counting on good rolls so you might have an early victory. One thing I don’t like about this game is that when the TUV gap gets wide enough, there is really no use in continuing to play.

Which ships?
Are you talking about a G2 attack on Sz 2 (Ca, ftr, bom vs. trn, dd, ac, ftr)?That attack is preventable. You’ll need a US ftr to land on the AC but you can sure up the odds and prevent it.
I wouldn’t worry about TUV too early, the Allies tend to take a pounding in Rd 1-2 in most games. But you definitely have to be sound. It took me forever to finally figure out my Allied strategies.
I certainly caught some luck to make matters a little worse for you, but the dice gods can always flip things around.

On a strategy note, I tend to overbuy ships for the UK early. I just hate worrying about the German air, plus is easy for them to buy an extra ftr here or there, so I’ll typically buy 2 capital ships on UK 1 or at least another 1-2 dd for fodder. I like 1 AC, 1 bb + dd (or trn instead if safe) or 2 ac + other ships (if I intend on bringing over 2 us ftrs). AC + 2-3 dds usually works too.
It just depends on how you plan on tackling the Axis. -
Yeah, an extra destroyer instead of a transport would have helped here.

How do you repair SBR damage?
I get a message to repair, but it doesn’t look like it does anything. It just says I have 52 ipc left out of 52.
When I hit done and try to move on it goes to the “buy” part but I still have 52 ipc. It looks like Ger was bombed for 7, so I should only have 45 if it was repaired. -
That looks like a bug and I don’t know what to do about it. :-(
