2011 League Championship - Gamerman (1) vs. Zhukov (2)
-
A very tough start for you
I can’t believe UK is getting 58 in round 4 -
If I take the Phillipines I will have collected 45 of the 50 NO’s available to the Allies in round 4… Certainly mean no disrespect - it’s more of an observation of the result of poor round 1 Axis dice
-
Yeah, UK’s strength is related to my awful dice in the early naval battles. If I’m doing badly as Axis, UK is usually making a ton of money.
-
I am thinking about doing some research on the correlation between G1 and J1 dice and final result of games. I will review dozens of finished games online (skipping matches between unevenly matched opponents) to see if the results follow.
I expect to see that when G1 and J1 go swimmingly the Axis almost always win, when they go OK, they usually win, and the Allies win most games when G1 and J1 dice are poor…. (after all, Axis have been consistently winning at least 2/3 of the league and tournament matches over the past year)
Maybe you have some observations from playing a lot of Triple A?
-
The vast majority of games I’ve played using TripleA have been low luck so they give little info on G1 and J1 determining the rest of the game, except in special circumstances like the 2 ss 1 fig attack failing in SZ2 (which can happen in ll). So in low luck you get a larger bid for Allies, but the Axis advan from having reliable Round 1 results is somewhat mitigated because the predictability of low luck makes its easier for Allies to plan and coordinate. Hence the Allied bid of 13-15 is not much bigger than the 8-12 u see around here.
But absolutely G1 and J1 dice have an enormous impact on games, particularly when the skill level is even. I can’t recall losing a game as Axis when G1 and J1 both went well. I did lose one game last year when G1/J1 went average or just below average but then Axis got diced bad Italy1. But I agree–when G1 and J1 go without significant defeats then Axis have the edge.

Thank you!
