  • I was tinkering a bit with a decent London counter-strategy in this game variant. I thought I had a chance due to you being a bit unlucky in the first two raids (2 bombers killed by AAs, not much damage on second raid).

    What’s very annoying is that even with 7 fighters, 3american hit points (1inf 1rtl 1bmb) other than the Fig, the chances are still high. (Although it looks like a 70% if you want to 90% the seabattle/possible scramble)

    I could have evaquated the Medi fleet for the chance of getting two more fighters (1fig 1tac in reality), but that would have doomed UK India as well (due to your J1 attack).

    What is really annoying of the SeaLion opening is that:
    1-is becoming a “standard” (although other players usually go the cv 2trn way G1)
    2-Euro side can win with 3 more cities, Cairo is a cake with London fallen, Russia can’t defend efficentely more than 1 city.

    I don’t fear the loss of the UK economy, 'cause they don’t do much usually anyway.


  • The only decent idea that came to me due to my uk1 and your g2, was to build 4 submarines and put them in 110.
    The problem is that it would have been dicey.
    (I also though of a CV build in 110, the 4submarine was 'cause they have sneak attack and hit only your navy)


  • I just started sealioning last game, and it worked out well, so I thought I’d try it again. I agree, it does seem to be pretty much unstoppable, and the benefit to Italy is huge.

    Yes and it doesn’t help at all. It might help against your opening ('cause you abuse bombers and don’t reinforce your fleet).

    The only thing you could achieve is trying to sink their fleet AFTER a sealion, but that’s very, very costly and you need heavy american investment in it.

    Also the German player can prevent it, but it will force him to buy fleet/airports G3, meaning Russia will be even more buffed after it. (But USA will be quite crippled of airforce).

    I’ll wait your game to be done ;)
