Hi,
Did some edit to the purchase, I later realised that you want a different OOL, like last time. GL HF
Tacts can’t intercept SBR. Rolling figs for expediency. If you wouldn’t have intercepted with just figs, then we’ll ignore the result.
IND dogfight
2 strat
Rolls: 2@1; Total Hits: 12@1: (1, 3)
2 fig
Rolls: 2@1; Total Hits: 02@1: (5, 2)
If you wouldn’t have gone up with equal odds, keep the fighter.
facility aa fire

strat will land on yun
Interesting. I thought that tacs can intercept as well. They can scramble, figured they could intercept too. Weird. I would have still thrown up the two ftrs. So, you lose one strat and I lose one fighter, right?
I’m not sure what the reasoning is, but Krieg said they can’t.
And right, we each lost a plane.
Actually what I was looking at was for an older Alpha, so maybe we should double check.
Yeah, sounds good to me. I haven’t checked the forums on 3.5 at all, so unsure of any clarifications. Let me know if you find out anything.
The Larry Harris Game Design Alpha 3 page doesn’t say what air units can intercept, but since tactical bombers couldn’t intercept in OOB (100% sure about this) I think it would have been listed under rule changes if they could now.
That’s what I found too. Makes me start to think about buying more fighters rather than tacs now… I guess I was just confused. Nothing new! :-D
The way dogfights are handled now (defenders @1) makes it really tough to deter SBR even if you do buy fighters when capitols aren’t otherwise in danger.
This is only my second game with the new rules, and in both cases, SBR has been used. I think it is actually a crucial tactic for the Axis now. The Allies really will not get much of a chance to do it until later, and by that point, not sure if it matters as much. Early stages, the Axis have the advantage with airpower… pretty much just have to hope your aa fire is lethal! Otherwise, you are spending a lot on repair work.
Now that we have that we have that resolved, do you want to correct the map and send it over?
Oops, looks like you already sent it. Sorry.
I’ll get my turn in hopefully tonight. A lot to think about!
The last map I posted hadn’t resolved the SBR yet.
If you didn’t already update it, here you go.
OK, things are looking pretty sketchy to me. This round is very, very tough to figure out what is the best thing to do. So many options. Feel like got go after it a bit…. so, here we go.
