Hmmm - I have not had that problem.
Sure, after posting my move in Triple A, that takes it off my list, but that’s what I want. It comes back on my list when someone else (my opponent) makes a post.
This way, the list is always a short list of the games where it is my turn.my problem is i read the thread but forget to mark unread. then it proceeds to sink rapidly down the list…

Arathorn over Questioneer not included in my rankings (but footnote added at bottom) because only G1 played - Questioneer is not a regular league player….
Anyway, just posting this as a courtesy to Arathorn as an FYI

Great. I wouldn’t want it there either as it would reduce my PPG average.
Thank you!

Changed my mind -
Boldfresh over Ziggurat not included in the rankings (footnote added below, to reconcile to official league standings)
because it was only played through I1 and I understand that Ziggurat was the beneficiary of very good dice on G1 and I1. He did not quit because he had a poor position or thought he was going to lose, so in my judgment that is a non-result. -

See where you stack up against the other 50 league players in the 2013 league
See first 2 posts in this thread for explanations/details.Reminder to players to go back and look at the first post in the G40 league thread for the league rules.
One thing that has changed since then is the # of games required to make the playoffs, and how many players will participate in the playoffs, but it will still go purely by win % - that has not been changed. -
Do U have some data about an average bid of the 2013 league so far?
And data about average Allied winning bid of the 2013 league?
thanks :)
-
Ah 44 games under the belt…. no one even close yet…
I should get a special prize :-D

I have not been tracking bids this year under the assumption that most players are not very experienced and don’t really know what they’re doing, anyway.
I think most bids I’ve noticed range from 5 to 14, with 9-12 being most common.
Sorry, no data on bid amounts.

Guess my average bid this year has been 36 IPC this year for allies. (48+48+12) with 1 loss and 2 games in progress. That help ya Amon-Sul?

And what about Axis vs Allies ? Which side is better so far?
-
You can look at the right side of my rankings spreadsheet and decide for yourself
I think you will find that there are about 6 players who have had much more success with the Axis than the Allies.
Many players have a similar record and/or win % with Axis and Allies.
Many players just plain prefer taking one of the two sides (I take the Allies) much more than the other.I think Allies have won at least half of the games in the league in the past couple of months. I think that as people get more experience with the game, the Allies will have more success, because I think it’s easier to play effectively with the Axis than the Allies, for most players, especially if they don’t have a lot of experience.

Ah, the eternal question….
I have myself seesawed on this quit a bit… at first it was the Axis then maybe the allies having the advantage.
BUT, all that being said, I think the caliber of the player and luck factor more than which side is being played. A good player with the Axis that gets good luck at the start is almost unstoppable. A good player that gets bad luck with the Axis is quit stoppable, unless his opponent is a weaker player and then the Axis player can maybe pull it off.
-
Yep
The fact that people are bidding between about 5 and 12 IPC’s and the fact that we have a 55% Axis win pct and 45% Allies tells me that this game is actually pretty fair… So you should take whichever side you think you can do better with. If you bid to determine who takes which side, both players should be satisfied…

If you also consider the amount of units and spaces on the board compared to classic, you might reach the conclusion that this game is pretty well balanced really. What’s 12 IPC on a board with hundreds and hundreds of IPCs for each side and significantly more territories to deal with compared to the equivalent we were bidding in Classic?
