Hey Jen,

With less than a month away, is the league tournament still only for those with 8 games?  That’s fine with me, but according to Gamerman’s stats that means only me and MrGreen are up?  If so, it is 1 game then the league champion is declared or do we do best of 3 or what?

Also, I assume format is up to players – i.e. trippleA or battlemap?

The league ends on Midnight, October 31st of 2012.  However, if I have the number of wins incorrectly recorded, please let me know by the 21st of October, 2012.

Unless the record changes, it appears that Karl7 will be playing MisterGreen for the 2012 champion title.  The game will start no later than 11/2/2012 and as soon as the record is finalized and both players agree to start.

The 2013 league will begin on the same day.  The only change to the rules will be that the most recent and “final” rules posted by Larry Harris will be in effect - as published on 11/2/2012.  (Previously it was as they were on 12/24/2011.)

An announcement post will be posted “shortly” (as defined by me. :P  )

Shouldn’t the 2nd edition rules (the pdf was linked on the G40 thread) be the ruleset for the new league year? Everybody has access to them and I can’t imagine why we would want to play with a previous generation of rules when the current ones are here.

You must not have compared this to my results spreadsheet or even double checked yourself, because these are wrong.

Karl has 9 wins, not 10

Your list fails to identify who has played 8 games (besides Karl).
Last I checked, U-505 has at least 2 games in progress and so would qualify for the playoffs.  Then you will need to decide what to do with only 3 players who qualify for the playoffs, because the apparently this was not anticipated when the rules were done.  I acknowledge that you said “unless the record changes” but then you describe details about “the game” between Karl and Green, and that seems a bit presumputuous, to not even acknowledge U-505’s nearness to qualifying for the playoffs with more than 2 weeks to go.  Also, you have that provision for calling games by mutual consent at the end of the year that could cause the results to change at the very end.

You are making me lose confidence in the G40 league by managing things the way you do.  (Your “rankings” list is not in order, nor does it pay any attention to winning percentages which are specifically the criteria for the playoffs as per rule #9)

Gamerman01: That is precisely why I asked the players to double check.  I just went through this thread and recorded the results I saw posted.  I also acknowledge the season is not yet over.  I do, however, want to get the last 10 months recorded so I do not have to do it all on Halloween  :wink:
