oh hell no. I own the west front, east front , medd front, and about two others. Terribly written rules. And not fun to play at all.

Battle Forces is similar, but a stripped down version (i.e. same units but no technology development or strategic air raid, just combat). No download required and you can play up to 3 games at once with a basic membership for free.

About a decade ago, I purchased a bargain bin CD ROM for Sid Meier’s Windows Civilization and Colonization (DOS)

$10 from one of those office stores then .

I replayed both a gazillion times on 2 sequential PC’s.

It was hard enough to get a group together as a single…
Even harder now that I am married.
Most of the get together folks I hung out with now have kids, and even less time for such a game gatherings anymore.
After work, I can play a solo game on my PC for a while, save it , and then get back to my chores.

Not sure why you would limit yourself to just board games that would need other folks to match your schedule.

I have this game too. It has little value. Even the pieces are too ugly and huge and are made with the wrong plastic.

Eagle was the old Helen of toy game company circa 1960’s.

All their games belong to the inside advertisements of comic books and deserve no other realm.

I knew they would be out of business before long.

I pulled mine out of a closet a few months ago. It slipped my mind for years that it was in their. You’re right i forgot the tower thats because i’m always the orcs and want to forget trying to get the crossbowmen off the tower every freakin time. Eh!

I like both pretty equally. With regards to what you said about RTS skill being about memorizing hotkeys and such, I don’t bother attaining enough skill in this department just to be better at the game. (Maybe this is why I still haven’t beaten Starcraft or Warcraft 3?) But I still love RTS because of the fast-paced decision making! On the other hand, Turn-based is awesome because it allows alot of time for decision making. So as long as it’s one of the two extremes, I’m good to go. :D
