  • As I said if you want to scramble just reroll. I just find it a bit to convenient if you just roll additional defenders if you know my attack rolled crappy. But if you say you definitely would have scrambled, then you may roll the additional defenders. I’ll probably loose some attackers for the second round so maybe I’ll even have to retreat. Shall I go ahead and reroll it?

    I’m not going to scramble because I don’t want to sour this game. I would like to point out:

    I was not basing the scramble on your rolls, it was based on your number of units and type of units. If I rolled 5 hits over two rounds, you lose 3 air units, and I lose 3 air units, then you lose 2 ships and I lose 2 ships with you getting better IPC value because one of mine was a cv, but I also have the chance of rolling 6 hits over 2 rounds if the cv survives round 1 and that changes the economics to a mutual loss of almost equal value since it would cost you another air unit.

    In the past, if I didn’t want to wait for your scramble orders, I always rolled your stuff and told you to just add your defending dice. By not waiting, yes, I gave you the advantage of seeing what I rolled first, that was because I didn’t want to wait. If I didn’t want to be that generous, I simply waited for your orders. I figured that was what you were doing by not waiting. I’m not trying to say…oh…you rolled bad, let me take advantage.

    Either way, I’m only typing this as a defense of my character, It felt like you were saying I was trying to exploit the situation. When technically, you are suppose to ask first. The primary purpose of that move was to block Italy from clearing. But I also saw it as bate, either you use your whole fleet and I don’t scramble or you use a smaller force that permits me to make a tactical decision to scramble in order to increase losses.

    Again, lets just proceed as is, because I honestly don’t want to create tension. You have played very well, and I suspect you already have won. I have finals this week, so I likely wont be able to post until Friday or early before work each day if able.


  • I didn’t mean that you wanted to exploit something by saying you wanted to scramble. I was just being impatient and wanted to get on with it, although I did choose the attack small enough that you may have scrambled because of it. I just said, that to really objectively decide if one scrambles or not it would be better to be ignorant of the result. That’s nothing against you personal it’s just more honest. Then again I did roll badly so maybe a reroll would have me rlling better which gives me an advantage. Best thing probably would have been to either skip the battle until I have your scrambling orders. Well I was a bit impatient because it as the first time to actually conquer Russia for me. Other games I played where declared a win or loss before then.
