• I just agreed to my first game of Low Luck, using the DAAK dicey.  I have a question regarding BB bombardment during amphibious assault.  It seems the Battleship’s attack factor of 4 is simply added to the attacker’s total, instead of constituting a separate step.  Is this the intention, for some reason, with Low Luck, or can we fix it?  Meaning can I instead just enter the BB separately, i.e. a round of attack with 1 BB against nothing, and then if successful remove the casualtied defender before they can fire back?

    Yes, in LL the BB just gets added to the Attacker.
    It WILL automatically disappear for multiple rds of combat though.

    I’m not sure the rationale behind it (simplicity???)?

    I suppose if the two players agreed prior to the start of the game then it could be handled seperately as you suggest, but by design the default is that it just gets added into the first rd of battle.


  • Thanks Darth, too bad the defender gets to fire back (does this significantly weaken BBs in LL, in your opinion?)  We had no agreement, this was my first game with LowLuck.  I’ll just factor in the 4 att. value to my battles, then.

  • As I understand the rules,

    BB Bombardment defenders still get the casualty return fire roll for the initial combat round when they die.

    The only case were defender killed early does not get a casualty roll is vs sub first strike.


  • If you play on the daak servers the daak rules state that you can choose wheter to add the bb value to your first round attack or have the bb fire its first strike.

    If you choose to bombard with the bb, simply make a round with the BB(s) and nothing else.
