I’ll add to Grim’s post a small note.
If able, start bombing Moscow. Use Japan’s bomber(s) if needed. They can hit from Western China. Have Japan keep casually gobbling up Eastern Russia to pinch their economy more.
@Vance:
I’m a psychology prof (teaching Perception and Neuroscience this term). I wonder how many academic types play Axis & Allies.
I’m a high school dropout, but I’m also a well read amateur historian. I understand the personal curiosity regarding your profession, but I’m more interested to know how many A&A players are there, that don’t know anything about world war 2 history, probably lots.
LOL true that!

I don’t PLAY Axis and Allies, I study it…yea, that’s what I am going with! Think I can get an article published about the statistics of Axis and Allies? Oooh…that would be nice! I can see the discussion with my department head now!
Speaking of…anyone hiring? I think I may need a job soon after getting that article published. lol
a pub’s a pub.
I was a few credits away from a degree as a History major, but didnt finish, now im the number 2 guy at a contract security firm, funny how life goes……
I’m a kid…
I have a degree in Asian culture and languages. I’m studying for a more deep specialization now. The culture part of my degree focus mainly in history of Asia, so my passion for World History is unrelated to my career. Yet… I didn’t bought Axis and Allies 'cause I’m a history geek, I just liked the system, the miniatures, the map. I’m not either a Germany fanboy (I know few here that are fanboying German’s ww2 warmachine) and neither a US one. I enjoy playing this game a lot :)
Oh, I may add, my future wife hates Larry Harris with all her soul lol.
I guess I am somewhat of a “Germany fanboy”. I am an amateur military history buff, mostly centered around WW2 because it seems to have just the right amount of technology for my liking. For one thing, battleships still played a major role, which I love. Nowdays they are almost extinct. Things today just move too quickly and are too lethal (guided missiles, etc.) Before WW2, everything was still too primitive. A lot of gamers like the idea of a WW1 A&A style game, but I’m not so crazy about the idea. In WW1, the tanks were very new and very slow and cumbersome. The planes were really flimsy and they still used a lot of horse cavalry. Heck, some nations were still using horse cavalry even in WW2. I guess I’m just not a fan of horse cavalry is all. I just want men and machines in my wars, not animals.
In my studies of WW2 military actions, I have taken a particular interest in the uniforms and weapons used by Germany as well. I find them fascinating. It’s not always easy explaining this hobby to people because unfortunately the WW2 German military is so intertwined with National Socialism and the holocaust. Not everyone is able to distinguish one from the other. One day, a few years back, I was at work on my break reading this book I have, the Encyclopedia of German Tanks in World War Two. A co-worker saw it and asked me “So are you some kind of Nazi lover or something?”
I also like reading up on US and Japanese equipment used during the war too.
