I think the Manchuria minor IC stays, but is useless because China doesn’t use ICs. If Japan were to recapture it (which ain’t happening this game!), then japan could start using it again. That’s my guess.

It’s kinda hard for USSR to go for Norway, I have to admit I thought about it for a while and have seriously considered it when I was trying some out of the box thinking, but I realised it would severly weaken my defenses so I decided not to do it. The key is to try to postpone the fall of Moscow as much as possible, so I went for that, although I’m far from sure if I did it the right way.
Interesting choice you do now with Italy.

Yeah taking Finland/Norway costs Germany 10 IPCs and gains USSR 5. USSR might lose Leningrad and maybe not hold Norway for long, but then again Germany might have to waste a lot of money on transports. It would put a monkey wrench into Germany’s plans for sure. In our case, I blew 30IPCs on a major IC and was prepared to blow another 35 on infantry/artillery to defend Norway as soon as you went into Finland. Anyway that’s how we learn the game.
