  • I chose ulimately to lose the carrier and land the fighter/tac on Gibraltar. They can still scramble, but the two fighters already there can not.

  • OK cool. I am a little confused by the rolling 6 dice for the cruiser & sub, but I guess its meant to reduce the quirkiness a bit and get the odds closer to 1/6 for the sub and 3/6 for the cruiser?

    By the way, as a back up I was planning to go all out and hit sz92 this turn with planes from W Germany and land them in Algeria but the Italy suicide run worked out OK and I don’t want to trade expensive planes at this stage so now I’m not doing it.  A destroyer left in sz94 would have prevented the Italy suicide attack.  I’ll remember that one.

    Anyway, Italy collects 14 IPCs (should have been 15 but I forgot Kenya).  By the way, there seems to be a glitch with my battlemap because I can’t seem to change the IPCs on the chart in the upper left corner.

  • I scramble nothing, sir.

    The 6@1 was just to make it quicker… in the little battles like that, it can last awhile, and you have to keep posting over and over sometimes… so, if you just do six (or whatever) at a time, you can compare the two lines, attacker and defender, and see who hit first. The results might look like this - destroyer offense vs. sub defense:

    a 3,5,4,1,3,2
    d 2,6,1,4,3,2

    In this case, the defender’s sub got a 1 on the third roll, before the attacker got a hit. It just simulates the effects of a bunch of dice.

  • Gotcha that makes sense.  I think I mistakenly gave France an extra unit in the S France battle (we’ll call it the Resistance).  I make a lot of mistakes. live and learn.

  • On a case by case basis, we should look at moments when mistakes are made, and we can correct them.

    I’d rather play a good, and fair game, than win, so just check with me. In the example of S France, we could look at the rolls and adjust based on dice rolls, for example -


  • OK will do.  On closer inspection it looks like the S france battle was in fact done correctly.  I was just confused because I typo’d one of the rolls and did it again.


  • And by the way, the title of this thread is misleading. You’re playing a solid game. Germany is burly.

    To use the economic chart in the upper left corner, use the roundels of the country you want to add, and add them to the roundel beside the IPC value. Or, use the delete cursor to delete from the same place.

  • Thank Stalin!  I think at this point I can handle things with my board set up in front of me but it will be a while before I could play with just Abattlemap.  Nevertheless at least I now know how to change the IPCs so progress is being made.
