tv time with wife. away for a few hours.
Stalingradski graciously teaching Vance the ropes
-
Ooops sorry I counted the defending fighter as 3 instead of 4 the first 2 times, and one of them should have been a hit so I will take off an infantry. sorry

Ouch I’m not messin’ with yugo - pull everyone back to Romania.

1 infantry from Romania to Bulgaria (this might technically be a combat move?)
1 armor from Romania to Slovakia
1 armor from Poland to Slovakia
2 infantry from Germany to Slovakia
2 AA from Germany to Slovakia
3 infantry, 2 artillery from Germany to Poland
1 infantry and 1 artillery transport from Germany to Norway via sz112
4 infantry from Germany to W Germany
2 infantry from Denmark to W Germany
1 AA from W Germany to FranceThe fighter, tac and bomber that hit Norway land in S Italy
1 fighter and 1 tac that hit France land on new aircraft carrier in sz112
3 fighters and 3 tac land in W GermanyI will post the G1 map shortly.
-
OK here is the map after G1.
Hypothetical question: I assume the attacker does the rolls or else the game would take forever. Suppose a defender would have chosen to lose different units than the attacker chose (e.g. maybe take a hit on a plane to protect an aircraft carrier etc), does the defender then just change the map? Or do you redo contested battles if it is complicated (assuming both players are gentlemen)?

Germany collects 68 IPCs (39 + 19 for France + 2 NOs (Norway iron and Russia nonaggression)
-
Way to get it going! It was a pleasant surprise to check the site and see the game.
So your question about order of loss (OOL)… for the most part, it’ll be pretty clear, and no worries. If you have any doubt whatsoever, you can just ask and wait for your opponent to answer.
I’m doing some Italian moves with Gargantua right now… after that, I’ll check the map, give more pointers, and do Russia’s turn! Fun, ain’t it?
-
Excellent! I am very slow so no rush. I will check later. Enjoy your game with Gargantua.
BTW I saw the nongame between mantlefan and cmdr jennifer posted earlier. As a representative of the newby faction of A&A.org, I say that was laaaame. C’mon man, fight the fight!
-
Vance, I haven’t seen it, but those two have a running feud, which is too bad. They both have good ideas, and valid opinions. Life is too short for that kind of energy.
Ok - the first thing I noticed was doing the battles on different posts. You can write the code for the dice battles one after the other on the same post, to save you time. Just make sure to leave a space between them and mark your battles with the territory os sea zone name just above it.
I just checked the map, and you had a nice first turn - going after the cruiser in SZ91 allowed you to use more units in France and Normandy. I have to say, I like it from the German perspective. You weren’t afraid of the French AA Gun.
I also like the use of Yugo as a way to reinforce Romania, and get troops to the front more quickly. It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing.
My daughter (she’s six) is going crazy right now. I’ll be back later -
-
Stalingradski hasn’t gotten too many dice breaks in our game (If any)
But he’s fighting a good fight!
Welcome to the war Vance….
-
Thanks! If you don’t mind, I am going to spectate on your game - hoping to learn from the pros.
-
It’s about getting the led out.
Give your enemy no Quarter, Attack, Attack, Attack. !
Take them aparat piece by piece, and keep moving. Go with your gut when you have to. And put some spirit in your dice.
-
G - you’re aggressive! And I appreciate it. I’m learning a lot, and quickly.
Vancr - your opener with Germany - I learned from that too. Experience makes us better.
I also appreciate friendly games, with good spirit.
Here’s to you guys - back to football, legos with my daughter, and a little Bushmills. I like Sundays.
-
Vance - Russia is coming soon - I noticed the AA Guns weren’t the right number - I’ll go through and fix it for every country before sending you my turn… this map wasn’t prepared for Alpha 3. I’ll also send you the template for A3, so you can have it for future games -
-
Sorry I forgot to do that. I fixed up Italy’s navy and the German AAs because that’s what I was thinking about, but then forgot all the other AAs.
-
That’s ok!
Man I love this game. :)
I just had a turn that saved my bacon vs. Gargantua.
Ok. Russia - purchase 5 infantry, 2 artillery, mech infantry, fighter. Crazy ivan.
All non combat.
Here’s the map. I only added Russia’s AA… please add Japan’s, then I’ll do the US, etc…
Also, in the upper left corner, you’ll notice the IPC chart. You use the country-specific symbol (your virtual rondel) to the left of your infantry in your unit box to add them up. I did Germany for you (to 68) -
Ok, mighty Japan! Have fun killing the Chinese…
-
I don’t know if it saved your bacon…
Maybe just went back to Simmer from High Heat :P
