It’s not possible to beat somebody who’s really good and lucky.

In game 2, he survived an infantry in UKR and then attacked a naked German fighter in BUL and killed my plane without losing the infantry. I don’t think I need to tell you how big of a turnaround that whole sequence is in turn 1. I just had a good Japan turn though, although my two infantry and cruiser couldn’t kill his infantry in KWA, which was another big turnaround. He has many possible targets for his Brit and Amer turns though, and if could just get lucky in a couple, we could be back to square.

I’ve also been victim of infantry vs. naked fighter. JWW attacked a Jap fighter with a Russian infantry in Manchuria and won on R1 -
You may not believe this, but the infantry I failed to kill in KWA has just attacked my two fighters in FIC and killed one. My fighters missed in the first round, so he could have actually killed both fighters AND taken FIC for the NO with his single infantry. Luckily he didn’t do what I was fearing the most, take both infantry (BUR and KWA) at the fighters. Had he done it it may very will have succeeded (as if it didn’t already succeed enough).
