Note that against DD I did not attack Z12 nor did I attack Z9.  I can’t believe anyone would go for Z9, Z2, Egypt, and Z12 all at once and clear them all.  It’s way too risky for my tastes.

JWW left Z9 alone and Egypt because of the bid, but cleared Z12, Z2, Z6, Ukr, EPl, and BSt with, as I said, the loss of 2 infantry and a sub.

yeah, that’s what I’m saying, he went for ALL 4 battles and won them ALL!  i should have just conceded right then probably, and save us both (especially me) a lot of effort.  of course, I did learn a few things in the game, so I guess it was not a complete waste.  I am hoping he will allow me a rematch so I can see if it was just his incredible dice that won it for him (they didn’t stop with G1).

Yes, I see.  He cleared them all, but he did lose quite a few units in the process.  But you started UK1 with zero transports, which hurts.  And I hear you about the luck after G1.  Can’t win 'em all, especially with dice games.

Sweet dice for UK5 round - it’s settling in to a really compelling game I think.  TUV for both sides is close, and incomes are close.  Game should look close for several more rounds…

Gamer, it’s starting to look like I may need this game to be complete by Nov 1 to count toward my 10 game requirement, do you think that may be possible or should I see if I can get another game in?  I know we said it would move slowly, I’m just asking if you think it might be possible.

Definitely possible.  Not a sure thing tho.  Depends on a lot of things.  If you want 10 you might want to pick up another with someone who will play you daily.

Look forward to this one, I feel like I have a good start but I know there is quite likely going to be a lot of learning for me here, which is the most exciting part.

Working on digging out of this big hole the Japs are in.  It’s only round 4 - jeez, you did something right.

By the time she was done, I was too tired to come back to the cpu.

I was 80% done making decisions.  Maybe today during a free period or tonight I can finish it.

I’m thinking I’ll move fleet to 61, army to Fuk.
I was going to take Alaska, but am not sure about that now.  You can’t take it back immediately, but I’m not sure I want to go down to 2 transports and send ground units there, even though it would be a swing of 8 income….  still thinking about that

Can’t build fleet in 38, you have way too much aimed at it.  My 34 fleet is stranded.  I will probably have to move it to 33.

Japan is in trouble.  I feel like it’s “mate in 3” right now.  And it’s only round 4, so kudos to you.  As I said in PM, axis always wins in my experience with 6-8 NO’s per turn.  You’re getting me down to about 4 already, so I’m in trouble by that gauge.  However, I think your European theater strategy needs a lot of work based on the first four rounds of this one game.  You are putting the hurt on Japan so fast that I may not be able to make significant gains against Russia fast enough.

I think there’s a very good chance this game will be over before the league deadline.  Unless it’s reasonably close or if I am somehow ahead, I plan to resign before the 2011 season ends, because you need the game for qualification.  Not that it would be charity or anything like that!

Before I play 41 Axis again, I need to review this game and learn from it.
Can’t remember which game is which sometimes, but I think I recall getting set back big time by dice a few times…
Combination of big bid, some backfiring dice, and your skill has me in a pickle to say the least.
We should talk about the European theater once the game is over, though.

You talk very humbly about your play and my play, which I appreciate!  :-)
I think you are either
1)  Underestimating your own abilities (I see you racking up win after win)
2)  Trying to get me to underestimate you
3)  Fishing for compliments
4)  Just a nice, gracious person

Don’t take it as harsh criticism - I exhibit all 4 of these traits at one time or another!  :lol:

I’ve already learned some things from this game that I used in my tournament game - namely the use of Australia and India and American air in the South Pacific…
You didn’t teach me to leave 5 bombers almost unprotected in the Congo, though!  :lol:
