I know it’s been posted before, so my apologies in advance. I’m looking for buys and strategies for Germany (and Italy?) for a potential G3 or 4 Sealion. No bid strategies, please.

Attacking 106 is pretty important too, it gets the UK two land units. If UK doesn’t do Taranto, their fleet can link in 92 as well with the Malta stuff carried in.

Sea Lion is always an opportunistic play. The resulting German fleet has other uses.

I normally maintain peace with the west and go after USSR & China. There’s a possibility of a UK2 DOW with that. I think USSR’s best response is to hold in Buryatia. Those troops aren’t getting back to Moscow in time anyway. I’ve never seen USSR helping out China but maybe it would make sense if there’s no UK2 DOW? The Soviet air force could defend against strategic bombing G3 and also defend Yunnan J3. Never thought about that before.

If I’m going to spend IPCs on an IC I would wait until I have Western Ukraine (it should fall quickly), that way any units I build in W Ukraine and Ukraine could be with-in striking distance of Moscow. You don’t need more units to push into Russia, but you need more units to finish them off. That way if the allies fly a bunch of ftrs into Moscow you can build more units at the front, Romania isn’t going to help you in the later stages of your Moscow campaign. The only possible help a Romanian IC will give you later is if the allies try to come up though the Balkans mid game.

When I did it, i ofcourse filled all of the w ukraine IC as soon as i got it as well. I also built a minor in rostow and once I had Rostow, ukraine and stalingrad, I produced 9 infs there every turn, keeping the russian bottled up in moscow, while using the infs/arts to release my more mobile elements to attack the middle east from the north. Persia and iraq should fall once you come crashing down wtih 40+ units. The brit could perhaps challenge this. if UK has the minor IC in iran, iraq and in egypt from UK2/3, they should be able to have a lot of units being able to trade cauc and nw persia for a few turns.

Spending resources to address their protection seems less efficient than boots on the ground pushing back the Russian advance.

5 Transports and the fleet stay in the Baltic Sea - now you can ferry your infantry/artillery builds directly into Novgorod each round (+13 units a round in Novgorod - there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell Russia is getting it back - ever.)
5 Transports go down to Gibraltar - land in Morocco and join with large Italian fleet - which will probably exist unless England went no defense for England - and take Brazil, Africa, W. Indies and then slide the rest down around the Cape for Madagascar.

There’s a lot of things you can use the transports for. You could use them to set up a train service to Arkhangelsk through the Arctic Ocean and the other half to shuttle troops from Berlin.

Absolutely incredible detail and care in the craft…. Best painted units I have seen so far, breathtaking, I would be afraid to play a game with them.

“Allwork” is a professional artist. I guess that explains his awesome talent.

I am very intrigued by the idea of consolidating the European axis for a few rounds, but the window of opportunity closes quickly on the axis in general, so a defensive strategy like this would need a lot of planning.

The Germans were only “un-offensive” for two turns. During the first two turns they concentrated on killing the UK Navy and also took out some UK Air Force units on defense. They were also able to purchase several Infantry to shore up their European defense against the Russians.

And the Italians cleared and consolidated the Med. It was “interesting”.

I think ANY strategy would benefit from either a good deal of thought/planning, or a thorough understanding of the game,…preferably BOTH!

You should think about this as a strategy and “blueprint” your own thoughts for it. I believe you’ll also see it’s potential.

As you can see this is a gamble, but it CAN work.

If Russia is spending money on Airbases, subs, and losing aircraft that it is working.

As long as you are matching his Land army builds and pushing towards and objective also.

See the thing is it still doesn’t matter Germany is crushed and the game is all but over as Italy falls soon after. Then Japan can be ganged up on no matter how many ipc’s they have.

The problem is that, in most of my games, a sealion has occured, which means the US has to spend mostly in the Atlantic to liberate the UK.
