Hey Jenn, now that we have a finalized Alpha for the 2nd edition of G40, will they be a G40 Alpha Final type of tourny soon???  If so, I’m in. :-D

Considering I think the tourny will end about the same date (but a year after) it began…yea, we’ll have a “final” alpha version of the tournament.

I need to look at Krieg’s changes - see if they are really better or not (I have not played them yet, still working on OLD versions…) and, of course, I am perusing the boards to see if there are any house rules that might need to be applied…(doubt it, but we already have bidding and that’s a house rule, so you never know.)

I did that because i wanted to get you out of your comfort zone since you seem to play the Axis so well.

I got the bid i sent to Jenn saved in my inbox, so she can confirm that i won the bid with -28 (MINUS 28). Probably, she saw your -20 and thought that was won for you without looking at my bid…well…that’s all i can guess.

Sorry, I was in a rush - my youngest’s birthday party was today, I wasn’t thinking.  I saw 28 and 20, not -28 and -20.  AxisPlaya has -28 so gets the honor of being axis.

I have conceded to Anchovy.  I just got use to the 3.9 rules and have a few different games going on that rule set, its has been so many months since I played a A2 that I just can’t go through the brain damage of an A2 game in conjunction with A3.9.

Alpha 2 and Alpha 1 will be the forgotten guinea pig testing games. Many have tried and most fell asleep mid game, few have seen it through.

Yes, next years (weakly defined) tournament will be Alpha 3.9 with the option if both players want to reduce to Alpha 3.

I would say that 3.9 will be the definitive rule set, with the revised games coming out in September.

I’d like to see a 4.0.  Not saying 3.9 is necessarily bad or good, just that I see a couple of balance issues still - if the aim of Alpha is to make it perfectly balanced between the two sides, anyway.  Again, not saying it should be perfectly balanced, just that it is not currently.
