@barnee
Thank you - looks like that did the trick!

OK, the US move has got me with a rules clarification.
I am planning to invade Korea using 1 transport, and use planes to cover against the scramble. The rest of the fleet will move out of z6.
The Pacific 1940 FAQ says that you may move units into an unoccupied sea zone on the principle that “the possibility that there could be combat is enough to allow the move.”
I have to assume that the same principle of “the possibility of combat” would allow me to use the rule which allows non-combat moves in the combat move phase to escape a hostile sea zone.
I wanted to verify that you do not have any strenuous objection to this.
-
Yeah, I think it should be treated as hostile so you can move away if not participating. Let me know if you will be triggering any kamikaze strikes with ship attacks anywhere.
-
I stand corrected. Official ruling is that they may not move away which means they would participate in the battle. Good for me and my kamikaze, bad for you.

Well, great. Now I have to reformulate my strategy. You cannot defeat me with rules lawyering alone, I will find another creative way to smite you!
-
I will take any advantage I can at this point. :-D
-
Well then my moves are mostly non-combative. The peace-loving and isolationist U.S. is only going to take a few worthless territories around the globe, and blow up your real undefended transport. Not like that fake undefended transport that almost blew up my planes.

I think you attached the old map.

I see you rules lawyering. :x
We can hold off until Larry gives his input if you like.

The ruling is fine with me. If the developer says it, he says it. I simply wanted a more elaborate explanation than “no” so that I could understand the way they think about those situations better.
Also I think that posting on the dev’s forum counts as a “strenuous objection” :-D
I think I saved over an old map. I will try the combat one again here, and the end of the turn one as well. I had a lot of NCM to think about.
U.S. collects 55 + 30 NO + 1 saved = 86.

Gah, I messed something up with my U.S. placement. My tacs on Wake are supposed to be on Midway. I keep losing half of my NCM. If it’s OK, I will move them back, it did not affect China’s turn.
-
Don’t care. Go ahead. You don’t need to ask for that kind of stuff if it hasn’t affected anything yet.

Thanks.
