    US Turn 7

  • I didn’t notice this until now, but Japan cannot build a major ic in Malaya.  You can only build a major ic on a territory that has an ipc value of at least 3 and is one of your original territories.  For Japan, the only territory that qualifies is Korea.  Chinese territories don’t count as original either.

So, you’ll need to downgrade that Malaya ic to a minor.  I don’t recall what turn it was that you built it.  You can use the extra 18 ipc that you have as a result for another minor ic somewhere else and use the rest for builds or some other combination.  You’ll have to change your placements too, of course.

Let me know what you’d like to do.

  • Oh crap! That is a MAJOR setback! Sorry about that! Let me consult w/HoboSmasher and get back to you. This may result in us having to go back to the turn when we bought the minor in Mal and completely redoing the turn and moving forward from there. You ok with that? I’m not sure how we go backwards in this game…

  • Probably, the easiest thing to do is stick another minor in FIC or say that you banked the cash and build extra this turn.  Don’t worry about builds from previous turns. Just adjust any builds for this turn.

  • OK.  I checked and HoboSmasher just upgraded the minor in Malaya to a major last turn (turn6).  So just make an adjustment using one of the options in my last post.

  • Well, after reviewing the history, I see we have three options :

1.) Go back to Japan Turn 4 and completely redo things from there because knowing now that we can’t upgrade the minor IC in Mal to a major IC might have completely changed what we did and purchased that round. Or, spend the 12 IPC’s on other units and move forward w/our combat moves, combat and non-combat movements during Japan Turn 4. We talked about upgrading the minor IC in Mal to a major IC, which is why we purchased the minor IC in Mal in the first place. This might affect our whole strategy moving forward. Â

2). Go back to Japan Turn 6 when we upgraded the minor IC in Mal to the major IC and redo the turn. Or, spend the 20 IPC’s on other units and move forward from there. Might involve changing our combat movement, combat and non-combat movement, which is basically changing the whole Japan Turn 6 move and playing a new game from there.

3). Go back to Germany Turn 3, like I PM’d you about, not building the major IC in Romania and moving forward w/the non-combat movement on Germany Turn 3. This may be a good time to do this option.

Thoughts? I guess it comes down to, if you want to move backwards a little bit w/options 1 or 2 and continue this game or go w/option #3?

  • It looks like this game has turned into a bit of a mess.  Instead of re-doing things twice, let’s just do option 3 and start over from G3.  Keep in mind that we’re still using Alpha+2 rules in this game, so some OOB rules don’t apply.

  • Ok. I talked w/HoboSmasher. He agrees. Let’s go w/option #3…

  • Option # 3 is probably best. Even with the Major IC in Mal, we might have been able to take India but by that time, Germany and Italy would have probably been dead. Definitely think you had the advantage in that game. Well played. I screwed up by buying the major IC in Romania and putting all my aircraft(German and Italian) in Romania trying to defend it.

    New Germany Turn 3

I will change my builds to the following…

    Builds : 10 Inf, 1 DD, 1 Sub, 1 FTR

Com Moves(Com moves will be the same. Only one combat attacking UK)

    UK

3 Trans, 1 AC from SZ111, move to SZ112, pick up 3 Inf in Nor, 1 Arm from W. Ger, move to SZ110, pick up 2 Art in Hol, invade UK
1 CC, 1 BB from SZ111, move to SZ110, provide shore bombardment
2 Inf, 3 Art from Sco attack UK
    2 FTR’s from SZ111 attack UK
1 FTR from SZ113 attacks UK
    1 FTR from SZ113, moves to SZ110
    1 FTR, 5 Tacs, 1 S. Bmbr from W. Ger attack UK
7 Trans, 1 AC from SZ113, pick up 7 Inf, 7 Arm from Ger, move to SZ110, invade UK

    Combat

Keep the same dice roles. Germany takes UK w/6 Arm… AA dies. Major IC becomes a minor IC.

  • Nice Russian move! Why are you massing all your troops along the German borders? LOL!  :-D I don’t intend to violate the Russian Non-Aggression Pact!  In the words of Rodney King, “Can’t we just all get along?!”  :-P The Japanese move will be along shortly…
