Awesome thanks to both of you for the quick replies.
THE CONFLICT - The Great War 1914
-
I am now consulting LEGION GAMING on the creation of this game. I have drawn their attention to your comments here and will continue to work with them to improve the game overall.
This will set back the release but I am sure will lead to a much better game!
Please continue to comment.
Thanks

@Frontovik:

I actually considered recommending the side map.

Does anybody know the status on this game?

It is nonsense to not have the United States represented.
Somehow, after initial enthusiasm for this game, I feel less than sure about it.
The inaccurate map, the lack of Zeppelins, no USA units…
I want to buy it it, but I’ll be wary.
Let’s be honest here… The USA had limited and very LATE involvement in the War. Japan is also not included right? …and they were involved from the begining.
And only Germany had Zeppelins…
Zeppelins where only a “terror Weapon” that really did not change the course of the war right?

I have been involved with the game design to improve it.
The game is going through final playtesting right now before it moves to the production phase.
I agree that the game needed work so I offered my assistance to improve it.

What is the combat system like? Typical AA or more like D-Day?
-
Ok, so the Germans produced only about 20 tanks during WW1,
absolutely no effect upon the War, so why will the Germans have tank units in this game?
The Zepplins were an important part of the War effort for the Germans,
not decisive in any manner, but still important to their war effort
and they are not represented at all???!!
Big mistake.
And the United States’ entry was decisive in the War,
w/o fresh American troops the War would have continued for many more years.
The Germans realized this and went for broke and failed.

The USA is represented in this game i believe.
Zeppelins would be overpriced worthless units if they would were to be represented in this game, tanks were the new thing in WWI and would soon change the scope of warfare like few other technological advances ever have, not including tanks would be a travesty.

American troops are not represented by any miniatures,
at least that’s what has been set forth before.

@Imperious:
The game has US represented. They are just using blue pieces since USA comes at the end.
-
The Blue French pieces!!!
How awful is that!!! :x

Theyd better be quick to change it to make you happy lol

I , we?, can only hope! :-)

I like it, will probably buy it.
However, they should have the Russian with white units (Red, in the Tsar’s army?) and the Ottomans should have the red units, it would represent the flag of the dying empire.

They went offline before. Perhaps they are dealing with that forum spam issue…That would result in it being down.
-
HBG isn’t working with Legion, but I believe FMG is. IL is probably right, the spam situation probably overloaded the site. Hope they get someone in there that can kick those jerk spammers out.

_The Conflict is a global-strategy based game designed around the economic and military conditions of Europe in 1914. Players play in one of two alliances, The Central Powers or The Allied Powers, to defeat their opponents. Players choose among seven nations (Austria-Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Ottoman Empire, and Russia). After selecting a nation, players take turns completing their objectives during each round.
The Conflict has been extensively tested and designed by gamers for gamers. Players will take their turn each round to strengthen their tactical advantages and defend the borders of their nation. Each turn is broken down into Phases. Players must complete each previous phase in order to proceed onward with the rest of their turn. If a player decides to enter into combat with another player, they must, along with their opponent, roll a set number of D12 dice to determine the outcome of each individual battle. The Conflict uniquely deducts a combat penalty from the player with the weakest military strength in a territory. This combat penalty is taken off all of their dice rolls during the individual combat. The combat penalty allows for the strongest opponent to have a real-world advantage over their enemy, if they have a larger military presence in the area. Players can develop multiple (land, naval, and air) strategies to succeed. They can utilize 11 military units with unique capabilities to complete specific goals, upgrade technology, play one of three victory scenarios, as well as try a variety of player preferences.
