    You talk about the BB “going away”  there’s no where for it to “go away” to.  Save inside the Med, where it’s still just a FAT target.  Trust me, you get it G2…

    I think I would do it in a game where I wasn’t serious about Sealion.  Buy 1 CV and 2 sb and then chase it down turn 2.  I’d do that.

    Same question as Gargantua : How would you do that if Uk leaves a blocker in sz104 and gather everything in sz92 ?…
    Uk has options then, they can get out of the med, they can go to sz98 and regroup with UK pacific boats…

    He would have to block in 110 and in 111 or 119.  Which means he’s splitting his fleet up for me anyway.  He would block the north with a DD, and block 110 with a CA (or build a DD blocker).

    By splitting, I think I would still be able to get at his fleet wtih planes and any subs that are not blocked.  Just musing here.

    Anyway you slice the pie, the allies are playing YOUR game, as oppossed to their own game.  That’s the purpose of the excercise.

    But I don’t like that combined fleet in sz92.  That would be brought back up to sz109 to combine with new purchases.  Could be too strong to hit by turn 2.

    Gar…you said it was possible to get the UK fleet on G2. I just absolutely don’t see how.  The UK fleet is safe and won’t be destroyed if UK player doesn’t do something stupid.

    That said, not attacking sz110 on G1 has several advantages, i won’t deny it. And as you said, the axis is setting the rythm of the game.

    Jim, your last map for Uk is what i meant. But with a few mistakes: there can never be 3dd on UK1 in sz92 (dd sz106 is not in range of sz92). One CA is missing.

    The point is that : If you don’t attack sz110 on G1, then UK got a fleet right from the start on sz92, and they’re going to keep it. True, it will take time before this fleet gets well positioned and finally gets serious threats against Ger or Italy, but it will happen at some point.

    That’s what I see, anyway.

    Actually, if Germany doesn’t go Sealion, you can’t go in SZ109 on UK2 and add you buy because Germany will have every plane they have in range of sz109 + their fleet + a few more boats they will buy on G2, so they are ready to blow the UK fleet in sz109 on G3. That’s what i have seen in my games. A move in sz109 + buy for uk is a bit too early on UK2, but it will happen sooner or later.

    Exactly !

    Or, for crazy gamblers , you could also go to sz98 and add the Uk Pacific boats (that you moved in range on UK1) to this fleet. From sz98, you can go full pacific, or try to get back Gib, or attack the Italian.
