Yeah well a bunch of Italian ground troops on N Italy can retake S Italy right away. Of course losing Rome even if it’s retaken straight away is still a significant setback for the Axis.

well, in my games US does hardly something (let japan rot): they have hard time conquering india and containing Anzacs with very little support, and meanwhile italy is pummeled and germany stops its supply to eastern front cause allies can threaten with a whole lot of troops to conquer europe and berlin… -
