Hi guys,

I wrote a free android app to help me play A&A.
See attached screenshots.

It’s called “Aid for Axis&Allies boardgame” on the google play store.

Current features:
- Battle calculator
  – Land and naval battles
  – with support for:
  — Combined arms
  — AAA air defense
  — Offshore bombardment)
  — Capital ship hull
  — Submarine suprise strike
  — Submarine versus air limitations
  – Calculation:
  — For both armies: roll total, hitpoints total and IPC cost
  — Advice (victory percentage)
  — Average IPC loss and IPC loss per unit type. (This feature is only free during BETA. In the final version, unlocking it forever will require a one-time modest fee.)
- Purchase and repair calculator
Features planned in future versions:
- IPC tracker:
  – Income calculator (territories and national objectives)
  – Budget in purchase screen
- Research and development support
- Adjustable battle kill order
Notes:
- Only supports second edition Axis&Allies Europe/Pacific 1940 rules.
- Currently in BETA mode.
- Currently only suited for tablets (because a big screen is needed to show the entire calculator).

Now works on tablets with an Android version (4.0.3 or higher) too.
Also includes a purchase unit calculator now, besides the land and naval battle calculators.
Oh, and the units have icons now :)

Has anyone got any good strategies for the 1941 android app playing the 1942 standard edition? The map and setup is very similar to 1942.2 but there are some subtle differences which are proving tricky for the allies - e.g. 4 Chinese territories, East Indies and SE Asia in same zone.

you are correct

our UI uses Swing,

and to be Android / iStuff compatible, someone would need to redo our UI in a different library that is specially made for those platforms.

Hello everyone,

First post. Played my first A&A game as a kid if the late 80’s. Stopped playing in the early 90’s and was re-introduced with the game with the PC version in the late 90’s. Since then i go through phases on interest in little spells once a year. Long lost my PC version (just bought one from Ebay!) and have been in recent times using TripleA.

Anywho I got back in my A&A phase and see so many new developments in the board game (Revised and Anniversary Editions) and just realized a fe minutes ago TripleA has a Revised map but my question at last is there any plans to do a formal PC release of the Revised and even Anniversary editions?

As good as TripleA is, the AI is very week. (which they readily acknowledge as the only option is “Easy AI”) Ive longed for a new PC game not only for the new rules but also tougher AI. The AI can never cope with standard strategy “infantry push mech” and is not very sound with dead zone concepts.

Just wanted to see if anything is in the works.

Also if I may, are there any essays or published strategies for the Revised game? I used to love reading Don Rae’s strategies for the Classic game and would like to find something similar for the Revised version. (which i plan to start playing now)

BTW, what do fans prefer Revised or Anniversary? They look much different, what is kinda the default game for fans these days? Is Classic Dead?
