@mhal21 Sounds like a cool concept. You could probably go all out with the plane types (biplanes, jet planes, dive bombers, etc.). If you want to make that game, then go for it!

I am using the Coastal guns from Singapore 1942 game for fortifications. They look great on the board. I only need to buy three more to get the 15 listed in the set up. Also, aren’t the fortifications destroyed when you capture the territories they are in ? Ref to cmike post.

Alright this is a bit overly complicated but what would be kool is if you made a piece that was a seawall that had little (American) soldiers crouching in front of it. You could use this is a fortification piece or for a variant. Otherwise go with the Atlantic Wall Gun.

How about something Pacific Island style defense. Heavy gun peaking out of hill. Okinawa style defense system. Just a thought. A german blockhouse will look silly on Iwo Jima.
