In Toronto, ON, tournament games are played at 6:00 pm on thursdays at the Gamezclub (Coxwell & O’Conner)

As well, there’s usually a good number of players there on Saturday, and often Sunday.

I’ll second Andy above. HBG has some great pieces and they paint up really well because of the detail. Good source for OOB pieces as well. Their Fw-190’s are a bit smaller than the OOB versions, but everything else I’ve gotten from them has been great. Especially the Hellcats, Vals, and Stuka G’s.

I was wondering if the Axis and Allies Minis play by Forum section is defunct or not, I have seen numerous posts and threads by adminsÂ ( including the only one in the forum itself) saying it is functional and yet there are no games. Is it operational? And how does that work exactly?

Step 7. Determine Click Region

Because all of the images used by MapView must be the same size (80 x 60 is what the A&A Mins modules use), the program supports the concept of a “click-region”. This is a setting associated with each unit that allows for a subset of the image to be designated as the part you can interact with (right click, drag-drop, etc). This region is a rectangle measured in pixels in the format of left, top, width, height.

The last step is to figure out what the click-region should be. The easiest way is to use the standard rectangle selection tool and select a subset of the image that is mostly filled with the unit. Most image editing software show these coordinates down in the status bar at the bottom as you drap your selection triangle.

This is often more of an art-form than a science since our units are rarely square. Try not to include too much background area in your click region, or it can get hard to select overlapping units.

A sample is included.

This is one of the most time-consuming steps if you have to go back and do it later, so I suggest doing this while you still have the unit in your image editor. Just create a text file and save the the click region coordinates for each unit as you go.

The previous link for the Guadalcanal miniatures campaign alternates between Axis & Allies Miniatures battles and War at Sea Battles. It does not tie in with their Guadalcanal board game. I don’t think they have yet to combine all three games into one campaign. I’d like to try something like that at my local game scene because I think it would be to difficult to do via PBEM.

I have two starter packs of War at Sea and 4 or 5 boosters, so I have the rules. I agree that they are fast-playing and pretty bare bones. I have played most of the rule sets that I mentioned, and likely will use the War at Sea ships to play them as well. I might also mount some of the ships from my various Axis and Allies game sets on strips of index card, and use them for additional ships. I am working on a data card for a B-25 Strafer as used in the Battle of the Bismarck Sea. I picked up two sets of the Tamiya 1/700 scale Mitchells to use with them. I will like add them to the Axis and Allies game as well, using them as the US bomber, and the B-17 as a heavy bomber per weapons research rules.

The rest of Sols minis came today, and we started playing. It was kinda diffilcult to understand at first, but after awhile it was easy. We played 2 matches in which I lost both. :lol: I had a good setup, it was just the way I commanded my units that made me lose. Oh well, I learned from my mistakes. Anyways, he got some pretty good rare pieces, which I think he will post later. :wink:
