for this J3 combat, you have unprotected transports in SZ43. You also have land units in Borneo. I moved a fighter and a cruiser into SZ43. I want to use the fighter to attack the unprotected transport, and the cruiser to conduct a coastal bombardment. I believe this is possible?
TripleA asks “do you want to attack transports?” and if I respond “Yes” then it uses both the fighter and the cruiser to attack. But I only want to use the fighter, so that the cruiser can conduct the bombardment.
Assuming this aligns with the rules, and TripleA has a technical limitation that prevents it, can I just remove the transport (since it would be killed by fighter) and use the cruiser to bombard?
I don’t think what I wanted to do is possible based on the rules. Seems like any unit present in a sea zone must participate in a naval battle. I moved the cruiser out before combat.
