hey dd, quick q, can aircraft hit subs in this game? no, right, unless there’s a dd?
Yes they can… unless the sub submerges. But they can hit if the sub surfaces to engage. Only aircraft have no right unless there is a dd. Any naval vessel (except tnps) can hit a sub if the sub surfaces for combat… i.e. fires a shot on attack or fails to submerge on defense where a dd is not present by the attacker.

Golden rule with Italian fleet is: Stay out of z13 unless you are really sure you are OK, because its a death trap for em. However, I see why you went there. Good idea for keeping the Brits from bringing that Egypt ftr, just need to stock Gib a little better to keep the Americans from ruining that objective. dealing with the UK bomber buy on UK1 is not fun, so under the circumstances I would have done probably something similar.

You can’t take the potshot if the sub submerges… which it will do in the absense of a dd.

that being the case, the sub is still alive. So, you may want to redo your cruiser/sub moves…

hm, reading the rule book it would seem you can, as attacking subs roll first before others can roll (which is when the defending sub can choose to submerge).
