Perhaps my explanation in the video was confusing in that sense, my goal was to help people use the rule properly, but yes… the hits are applied to the convoy zone, and it’s the total value of the adjacent territories that cap the damage.
Retreats question
-
If you expend all of an aircrafts movement, say a fighter from an airbase moves 5 to go into a sea battle.
And you then retreat from said battle, do the fighters get a chance to land on the carrier that retreated 1 zone away? or are they simply dead?
-
I think they can land on the carrier
-
That would make sense…
Or perhaps, you are locked in, and unable to retreat? Like you are with some NCM’s, because you HAVE to provide a landing space for the aircraft.
The same can be said aswell, what if you attack, and plan to NCM move into the Sz with a carrier after, but then you decide to retreat. The planes have reached their maximum movement, the Sz is not clear for the carrier to enter, so they die right?
Tough one…

Actually, they will die. The procedure for aircraft retreat is different from sea or land retreat: the air units break off and land anywhere withing their remaining range. Since the plane had zero movement points left, it dies if you retreat

Correct.
