I find Ozteas playable w/o a bid. '39 hasn’t been playtested as much. Japan usually steamrolls china so you may want to give a few guys to China. It doesn’t rally take any longer as the first few turns go pretty fast. You should read the game notes if you haven’t played it.
Techs in Global?

I haven’t purchased AAE40 (yet), but I have the Pacific game.
Can anyone tell me what the techs are in the global game.
I would also like to know how they work. (No 6s, wasted cash, or are there markers?)

Look at Bob Mickleson’s charts for the techs and their descriptions.
Here’s how they work:
Pay 5 ipcs per die. Roll the dice. If you get one or more 6’s, choose chart 1 or chart 2 and roll another die, which will tell you which of the 6 techs on the chart you get. If you miss, you do not get to keep your dice like in AA50. -
