@The-Janus indeed hurting the luftwaffe is a plus but not if it costs you way too much. Keeping your fighters with UK and alive in the Med then they can go to moscow fast.

While I can understand the rational for land units being excluded from the Pripet Marshes what rational supports restricting flights over the same?

There is none. It doesn’t matter anyway. There are 4 territories surrounding it. Planes flying over take at most 2 moves from one surrounding territory to the other. However, all 4 territories are 1 or 2 spaces from each other anyway
