So the axis almost pulled it off. Lost Verviers last turn. Allies just stayed in the other 2 stacks. Could roll them out to see if they get control for the heck of it.

Yes, but with caveats.
Combat and movement and reinforcement and the goals of the game are very different from ‘traditional’ A&A. The logistics addition of requiring supplies to move and fight and trucks to make sure your infantry and artillery and supplies ‘keep up’ with the tanks makes for a very different challenge.
This is the most ‘traditional wargame’ like entry in the A&A series.
Bulge is a large step from traditional A&A towards more traditional wargames. Concern over supply in particular is new for the series.
I just picked this up last week and after about 5 games I can say yes. I would warn them however that playing the Allies takes a lot of tactics and maneuvering!

There definitely is a learning curve for the allies.
