Buy the Improved Shipyards tech and buy Submarines. With that you can keep America away from your coast. Or make them buy something that is a waste of IPC in the long run.

Submarines are the best Unit you can put in the Sea. They cant be targeted by fighters or other planes! They can ONLY be targeted by destroyers and for their cost you can put a lot of them into combat relatively quickly. If you slink a few into some Allied convoy zones? They waste valuable resources trying to hunt you down. If you have Super Submarines AND Advanced Shipyards you have a 3-3-2-5 Unit that cant be targeted by almost ANY enemies. for Just 5 IPC a unit you break the American Player.

Yes, but those destroyers will be bought anyway for blockers you’ll lose 12 or more ipc’s to my 8(if one sub hits)
If there’s only 1 sub, a destroyer and planes will kill is while it will likely miss.

I think your IPC values are wrong, Don’t subs cost only 6 now? And destroyers 10? Granted that subs can’t be hit by planes unless a destroyer is present but as the US if you use a balanced attack you can break the sub’s grip on the ocean. I buy battleships just so I can get the free hit, and of course destroyers and cruisers. With a strong balanced fleet, the US shouldn’t really have problems with the subs, especially since the Japs are spending lots of money on those it will hamper their land force purchases.

I wasn’t meaning anyone in specifically, I was just generalizing.

However, with the price drop, plus income reaching levels nearly 50 and 60 IPC’s for major powers, subs could almost be considered overpowered because they are cheap but still effective. I never bought subs in Revised. Ever. I’ll admit, I haven’t been playing for half as long as most of the people on these forums, but I find subs to be a lot more useful in Pac 40 than they ever were in Revised. If I totally missed something, than call me out so I can destroy my friends in Revised with the newly discover useful of the sub! :-D
