• Then I would have already had signed a non agression pact and would hold true to it.
Because I have far more pressing concerns in the south pacific.

  • @Dylan:

What if you were versing Stalin himself?

Versing?  You mean like composing an ode as he stood on a balcony in the moonlight?

A little extravagant for a ceasefire I’d think.

We all know by now that Dylan cannot spell very well. Let’s cut him some slack…

Well it was spelled correctly, sadly I cannot count the number of ppl I’ve heard use the word that way

… and then the image of Stalin as Juliet… the post wrote itself.
    My bad.

  • Anyone can create a verb now, didn’t you know?  Just add -ed or -ing.  No English degree required.

I thought it was beautiful… like Sonnet to a Mass Murdering Dictator or something… very poignant.

  • Well we could pursue this but even in General Discussion it isn’t tolerated.

    Adieu.

    Too bad.

Dylan - until next time my friend. Until then: no ceasefire!

    What the hell is that?

  • @Admiral:

Axis and Allies is supposed simulate the aspect of Total War within the frame of the Second World War. For that reason alone, such things as alliances and ceasefires, incorporated into a normal game would not work.

Pretty much what I was going to say: What is the point of a ceasefire if your sole goal is to take the other person out?

  • @Axisgirl:

Im new here…whats happening? I dont understand this topic

I’m not too sure myself but it sounds like some people are talking about ceasefires between individual powers during the course of the game, while others are talking about ending the game in a ceasefire or draw.

I’ve called for draws before when the game seems to go nowhere and it is two hours past midnight and no one is in the mood to keep up the fight.

  • I think this could be a great way for newbs to not feel overwhelmed the first couple of times they are playing. Or it could be a bidding or handicap system for weaker players vs. stronger ones. At any point if the player with these ceasefires available feels the heat they could call one (they only last one round of play), and during that period they could possible recoup some troops or territory to put up a better fight. IDK, it seems like a good way to spot your mom some time so she won’t quit and say this game is stupid because she decided to leave Germany barren and not build any troops her first round , not that I encouraged that or anything……

Well by the rules I guess you can’t play cease fire, but really you can do whatever the hell you want.
